Dolphin E10 Pool Cleaner
The Dolphin E10 is a robotic pool cleaner designed specifically for above ground pools. This performance-class model is ideal for pools up to 30 feet long, and it is equipped to scrub and clean floors in 1.5 hours. At a cost of about $479, the E10 is one of the most affordable models the Dolphin brand manufactures. With such a low price and list of promising features, we put the E10 to the test to see if it really does make life easier for above ground pool owners.
E10 Features At-a-Glance
Lightweight
The E10 only weighs 13.8 pounds, making it one of the lightest Dolphin models.
Two-Year Warranty
The warranty covers important pieces like the power supply, motor, cable, etc. But it only comes with purchase from a certified dealer, so be aware of who you buy your E10 from.
Active Brushing
The brush on the E10 actively scrubs surfaces at two times the speed of the machine, so it can dislodge tough debris instead of simply pass over it.
Standard 1.5 Hour Cleaning Cycle
The E10 has only one cleaning mode to choose from, but it actively scrubs and suctions the entire pool floor within that one hour.
CleverClean Technology
Dolphins patented CleverClean technology is a navigation software that calculates where the robotic pool cleaner has and hasnt been, so it doesnt overlook any spots on its cleaning job.
Top-Loading Filter Basket
Instead of a messy filter bag, the E10 is fitted with a top-loading filter basket th
at pops out of the top of the robot. Plus, its one of the easiest filters to clean.
Unpacking the E10
The Dolphin E10 comes packaged securely and ready to go.
Its incredibly lightweight, and its outer shell is made of shades of durable gray plastic. Lifting it up by the built-in handle is a breeze, too. The front scrubbing brush has tough plastic bristles, but they give way with flexibility when you press on them. And instead of traditional wheels, the E10 is fitted with dual tracks with treads that grip the surface of the floor well.
The E10 is powered by a simple, energy-efficient power supply. With only one button the power button you wont get confused or frustrated selecting a cycle or timer. All you have to do to get the E10 started is drop it in the pool and push the power button.
The E10 at Work
Since the E10 is designed to clean pool floors only, we were interested to see if it performed this one task well since its the bread and butter of the cleaners features.
It is equipped with CleverClean technology, which is supposed to keep the E10 from overlooking any spots on its cleaning job. The E10 roamed across the floor of the pool steadily, even powering over drains with ease. It didnt seem to take an intelligent route, per se, but it did cover the entirety of the pools flooring. It even reared up a little bit on the corners to scrub the sides, but only by a few inches before retreating back to the floor. That was a nice surprise, since its not an ability promised with the E10.
As far as cleaning up debris, the E10 did a pretty good job initially. It grabbed most of the visible debris like leaves, twigs, and acorns, but it did leave a few pieces behind. Also, the water clarity was still a bit cloudy after the first cleaning job. However, the solution to all of this lies in the filter.
The Filter Dilemma
The E10 comes standard with a large capacity net basket. This is ideal for capturing a lot of big debris, but it doesnt have the chops to pick up smaller bits or tiny particles like dirt or sand.
However, you can purchase a finer filter basket at an additional cost. We went ahead and did this just based on online reviews we read, and were glad we did. The fine filter basket is a game-changer. We replaced the standard net basket with the finer filter basket and ran the E10 again, and this time it performed substantially better.
It picked up all of the debris left behind from the first cleaning, and it improved the water clarity within half an hour. After the E10 was done cleaning with the updated fine filter basket, the bottom of the pool looked squeaky clean.
Suffice it to say, you need to purchase the fine filter basket if youre going to purchase the E10. It costs a little more, but its worth it.
Maintenance
In terms of maintenance, the E10 doesnt ask much of pool owners. The filter baskets are very easy to clean, whether youre using the standard net basket or the fine filter basket. Simply pop open the top of the robotic pool cleaner, pull the basket by its handle, dump the debris, and rinse the basket clean. Thats all you have to do.
The E10 only has a 45-foot cable, which is substantially shorter than robotic pool cleaners with a larger cleaning capacity. However, its still susceptible to tangling. It doesnt have one of Dolphins handy, patented anti-tangle swivels, so youll have to keep an eye on the cord to make sure it doesnt develop any kinks or knots. A good rule of thumb is to stretch it out once a week to relax any kinks or knots that might be developing.
Because the E10 is so light (only 13.8 pounds), its easy to carry and handle. Even pulling it out of the water isnt hard, thanks to the quick-release feature that dumps excess water out of the robots cavity and into the pool. Its compact enough to not take up much space, too. If transportation and storage are high on your priority list, you can always pay extra for the Dolphin caddy. It stores the robotic pool cleaner for you, has a nook for the power supply, and it has a hook around which you can wrap the cord.
The Bottom Line
The E10 is not perfect, but it is one heck of a value.
What makes or breaks the experience of using the E10 is the fine filter basket. Its a shame that it doesnt come standard with this cleaner, and we wish Dolphin would include it with purchase. Regardless, its a necessary upgrade to get the most out of the E10. It can capture small particles and improve clarity of water far better than the net canister, and its just as easy to clean.
Its also important to remember what the E10 is capable of. Its not a fancy machine thatll climb walls and steps and scrub your waterline. It will, however, get your pool floor as clean as any professional pool guy. You will have to partner with the E10 and continue to maintain those hard-to-reach spots, but itll do the heavy lifting for you.
So, if youre interested in enjoying your above ground pool without the heavy burden of all that cleaning, the E10 is your bot. Youll have a hard time finding a better value

Very very nice

Amy moss
I love this !!!
Pool cleaning is so much easier and the unit is extremely easy to operate. I recommend this to anyone that has spent hours in the pool cleaning. Now your hours will be spent enjoying it!
sure takes away the hours of cleaning the old way
so easy my wife can clean the pool when iam gone
pool cleaner
does a nice job on our small pool
This is only for floor cleaning it does not clean the sides
I love this vacum. I have not had to manually vacum my 20,000 gallon pool since purchasing the Dolphin. I would recommend it, well worth the money when you consider the time saved by letting the Dolphin do the work.
Great pool cleaner !!!!
WORKS GREAT!!!!! REALLY GOOD POOL ROBOT CLEANER!!!!!!
Valuable investment
Excellent, never saw my pool so clean before
Plug n play ready for use
Very nice very easy to use
Easy to use
Love it. Very easy to use. Gets the pool really clean.
Works Great
This product is so much better than doing it yourself. It does sometimes take running it twice to get all the dirt but it's still worth it.
Not sure you need the fine filter basket
Wow this thing is unreal. One cycle through cleaned the whole pool.
Great investment
Dont know how Ive lived without it! Great vacuum. Would highly recommend over the kind that plugs into the skimmer any day.
Love this Dolphin
First time buyer and I love it for my 12 x 24 above ground pool
Excellent pool cleaner
We have an above ground pool that we manually cleaned. The robot cleaned the pool better than we did in half the time
Time saving and ease of use!
Pfft, what's not to like about not having to spend hours manually cleaning a pool when can drop this bad boy in and go about doing your other business!
never vacuum your pool by hand again
never vacuum your pool by hand again...this thing is amazing. Pool stays cleaner with fewer chemicals too.
recieved on time, package in good shape.
i like this product very much,it does a great job.this saves me a lot of time.
Best vacuum
I have owned other robotic pool vacuums. This is by far the best I have owned. Affordable. Easy to clean. Cleans really really well

We used this for our above ground pool this past year. I don't like to review some things right away to allow multiple uses and experiences. This product does a great job of keeping the pool clean. Easy to use. I would recommend this to pool owners.

Love it cleanes great we have above Ground pool and goes up little on the wall Just greatcleans our 18x38 above groumd
As described
Works great. No complaints. Exactly what I expected at a great price. Would highly recommend.
So simple to use
Opened the box read the quick start guide, put it in the pool plugged it in and off it went so easy. Pool is just being opened so there was a lot of debris leaves etc sucked them up with no problems. Only downside is that you have to buy the ultra fine filter separate and they are not cheap
Pool cleaning made easy
This is the best pool cleaner, worth every penny. I plug it in, put it in the pool and walk away. Even climbs the walls of my above ground pool. When its done, it returns back to the spot you put it in the pool and stops.
Great Buy
Much better than the cleaner that needs to be attached to the pump. Just drop it in the pool and let it run by itself. Need to be coax sometimes to get the edges but other than that it works great.
A must have!
Works great and totally saves time and work. I have an 18' round vinyl intex pool. My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner!
Works great
Cleans my pool wonderfully.
Amazing. Kids Named it walle. A must for a pool.
Ran mine all this season and was amazing with no issues. Was hesitant on the price but after what it does and how it cleans a good buy. Tired of hearing the wife complain about cleaning the pool. Price was worth it not to hear about it anymore. Lol enjoy.
I love this!!!
I love this!!! We should have gotten one years ago. We had a suction type that kept breaking. This keeps the pool sparkling clean and is so easy to use!!! Well worth the money
This vacuum sucks!! In a good way!!
Only used it once, but completely impressed so far! It picked up everything in the bottom of our pool. Even the super fine dirt/particles. We are so happy we made the investment
Great
I have had 4 other pool cleaners and this is so much better. It is amazing
Five Stars
small, compact, and efficient. Works well, bur dirt in pool corners needs to be swept out first.
Much better than expected
This product is simply fantastic. It performs much better than I thought. It is super easy to use, and super easy to clean. I wish I had bought this years ago. Cleaning the pool was always such a hassle, but this vacuum makes it almost effortless. I highly recommend this vacuum.
I love this sucker! ;)
I absolutely love this pool cleaner. The fine mesh filter (sold separately) is an absolute must though. I feel the fine mesh filter should come standard with this product but that is my only complaint. Well worth the price. I wish I had purchased this little guy a long time ago.
Easy to use
Works great - just take it out of the box - connect the power cord to outlet and it does everything else
Excellent product
We weren't expecting it for another week, but it arrived the morning of my husband's birthday party, so we were thrilled to receive it. Works great and it will take a lot of stress off my husband, who is the one who cleans the pool.
Great product
Love this! Buy the micro filter basket when you buy this. You will not be disappointed! I drop this in the pool and walk away. Saves me time and Im not wasting water like I do with the other pool cleaner methods.
Best pool vacuum ever
Best pool cleaner weve ever purchased and weve had many . We didnt realize that I climbed up the walls to scrape off algae . Our pool is never been cleaner and weve never used as little chemicals to keep it clean and we blame this all on this vacuum .
A must have for your pool
I dont know what to say I just love this as soon as it came I opened it up I read the directions I plugged it in I put it in our pool wham Bam two hours later our pool is clean I also bought the other filters for later but I had to try it right away To be honest with you I dont think I would really need them but I have them in case I do
Works better than I thought
After reading all the reviews I was a bit skeptical. The price was out of my budget but I was desperate to have a clean pool. I wish I had invested in something like this sooner. My pool looks like new now and it took an hour. So much for the four hours I spent trying to get the silt off the bottom before I got it. I feel its a bit on the expensive side, vacuums like these should be more in the 250-300 range. However, I am not crying over the cost after seeing how effortlessly it cleaned up my pool. Extremely happy right now.
May puncture your vinyl liner!
Buyer Beware! The tracks on this pool robot cleaner can puncture holes in your above grounds pool liner! We purchased the dolphin from this seller in July and they will not refund our money!! Now we will have to replace our previously perfect liner to the tune of $2000 or more. This was a major purchase for us and it has not only ruined our liner, but also has us stuck with a $500 bot that we cant use. Shame on Pool supply Superstore-nothing super about them.
Clean pool
This is a great pool cleaner. Just plug and play I run it thru it cycle once every day or so and my above ground pool stays spotless. It even climbs up the side wall. No more dragging out the hose and doing all the connection thing. I love this machine
It works great
The advantage of it is the Dolphin, (I Call Flipper) cleans the pool with no hasel, and even has the power to climb the walls at times. runs for 2 hours then shuts off. Vary easy to clean and does a GREAT job. can be used in above ground or in ground pool, does not connect to the pump or filtration system. Highly recommended for anyone with a pool.
It does a great job!
We are very pleased with this product ! It works very well. We bought the fine filter to go with it which also performs well. Our only complaint is that it gets stuck around the stairs of our 24 inch round pool at times. Today it got caught and wrapped itself 3x around the inside steps! Other than that, Id highly recommend this for the wonderful job it does cleaning our pool!
Oh yeah. I just fired myself from pool cleaning duty !
I just opened the pool so it hadnt been cleaned for five months. Bottom was nasty with leaves and twigs and this picked it all up after 45 minutes it was almost spotless. I was really amazed. Much easier than having to hook a hose up to the pump since this is self contained. Definitely worth the money.
I wish we had this years ago.
After several years, we finally got our pool chemical levels balanced this year, but we still had dead algae and sand from a blown out filter all over the bottom of the pool. Our regular filter barely made a difference even after we stirred everything up. After just a few uses, the Dolphin has the pool looking great for the first time ever. It was ready to use right out of the box. We planned to toss it in and forget about it for an hour and a half while it does it's thing, but it still feels fun to watch for a few minutes as it scoots around the pool. It's easy to open and clean, unlike other pool vacuums we've tried. We had to use the ultra-fine filter basket for the algae. I don't understand why it isn't included with the Dolphin, but if you have algae, you'll want to buy it as well. Also, although this is a model meant for above ground pools, ours likes to climb the sides. It's not a problem for us because our pool was seemingly built to be flipped upside down to use as a bomb shelter, but it might be a concern for others.
Worth every penny
We have used our cleaner for one season now and have come to affectionately call it Terminator. I hated hooking all the hoses up to the pool pump and then having to clean out the pump filter and everything else. This is so much easier! It cleans really well, doesn't try and come out of the pool, and it's easy to put in and take out. Cleaning the basket is easy too, just make sure not to let it dry very long when dirty. I thought it was expensive before I used it, now I consider it a bargain.
Saves lot of time from vaccuuming pool. Highly recommend!
While i dont have any pictures to take of this right now. Its in storage. i do want to say this thing is great. i did buy the extra fine filter for it. That helps out with a lot of fine material the normal filter didnt get. It works really well. For the price i think this thing is gonna save me a lot of cleaning time next year. I am seriously satisfied with this purchase. i recommend this a lot.
Works great!
I absolutely love this robot. I have trees behind my house and leaves are always falling. This robot has kept my pool cleaner than it has ever been consistently. The only down side is that I had to buy a seperate filter (fine) to pick up the really small pieces. I posted a before and after pic to give you an idea. We were out of town and came home to a dirty pool. It only ran one cycle and got it almost perfect.
Very good product, and priced well too.
Works very well. It has great auction power and moves with ease. Its, very easy to use, just drop it in the water, and push the power button. Cleaning, just remove the basket with one push of a button, and rinse out. The only small problems I had was, it didn't clean the dimples on the bottom of the pool liner, but of course, it's an above ground set on sand, and my kids have pounded little potholes in the bottom, so not really the machines fault. The other thing was, the first time I took the filter out, the handle broke on one side, but its not affecting it's performance and it might be partially my fault for getting a little in a hurry with it. Great product overall, the best I've used, and the price is great.
Awesome product
This pool vacuum is a home run. We have had at least four or five other automatic pool vacuums all ranging from price tags with $200-$600 although this one is pricey, it is very well worth it. Ease-of-use is amazing (cleaning out the bin- sooo easy!), and the reviewers are correct the cord barely tangles - which is a huge frustration if youre an owner of an automatic pool vac. But with confidence.
Time Saver
I have a 16' round above ground pool. I was using the vacuum that hooked up to the pool pump and filters through the pool filter. After losing my mind with that having to empty and clean the filter every 2 minutes, I was ready to do ANYTHING to get something that would vacuum the pool better. This Dolphin robot vacuum has been a life saver. I am able to get in the pool every day with crystal clear water. Our pool is situated under several trees, one of which is a lovely Crate Myrtle tree. Not only does it drop an abundance of those stupid flowers every day but it drops leaves like crazy too. Before I got my dolphin, I would spend an hour a day vacuuming the pool and the crappy vacuum didn't even work that well. I would still be swimming in debris filled water. Now I just plug in the Dolphin 2 hours before I plan to swim and bingo! CLEAR WATER!!! I absolutely love this product and I wouldn't have a pool without it!
Good pool cleaner
Ive used this Dolphin twice now. As others have recommended, if you have a sand filter then you will want to get an ultra fine filter. It works like a champ! I have a rectangular above ground pool and it got all of the sand off of the pool floor. I do wish, however that this model worked with the phone app. I contacted customer service and found out the app wouldnt work with this model. All in all, I have been very pleased with this product.
The best robotic cleaner IÂ’ve ever used.
This cleaner is amazing. We named him Thomas (the Tank). He cleans our 12X28vinyl pool completely in one session. Saves me a lot of time. The basket is clever and comes out easily for cleaning. I ordered the upgraded filter kit and its very nice. This gets five stars!
VERY HAPPY!
I compared models and prices for a while when deciding what robo vac to buy for my new pool. The E10 seemed to be the easiest to use and even though a little pricey, I decided to get it. It was a great decision! fully assembled, super easy to use, and the instructions couldn't be simpler. This is the first pool I've ever owned and I have zero experience with these things, so I appreciate the simplicity! Once in the water, it cleaned everything. Leaves big and small, traces of dirt, etc.....everything was picked up and looking brand new :) An excellent choice! A++++++
Works better than expected !!!
Works great. I was skeptical after reading the reviews on this unit. But it works better than expected. My 5 year old dolphin deluxe 3 unit didn't clean this good for almost twice the price. Cleans my 38x16 inground great !!! I live in Florida so every two days I've got pollen and yellow alge on the bottom of my pool even with the chemical balance correct. It cleans it up in one pass without agitating the rest of the pool floor. Only complaint is the cord could have been 10 feet longer and filter it comes with isn't that great for the finer filtration. Would recommend the fine filter if your doing this for sweeping the bottom in place of vacuuming like I am. Otherwise very pleased with this products results.
Make maintaining above ground pool easy.
Does a great job cleaning the pool and makes cleaning a pool simple. The device's filter basket is really easy to clean out too. It mechanical aspects seems very well engineered. The access door opens and closes nicely and with ease. When the door opens the filter baskets handle automatically pops up, a nice touch. The filter basket has a easy to open hinged bottom. So just push a button and the large dirt just falls out. The filter catches even the tiny sand grits, these are a little harder to get out of the filter but a little hosing off and it is ready to go. Putting the basket back into the robot and closing the hatch, automatically puts the basket handle down, again nice touch. The device cleans great, I don't think it has as much "intelligence" in logic as manufacturer claims...patterns seems random and over time it will cover the entire pool...they probably just make it run plenty long enough to ensure the probability of covering the entire pool is greater than 95%. It does try to climb and one time it actually went to the surface so I wish I would have bought the unground pool version (extra $100) for my above ground pool...I am pretty sure I wouldn't have to clean the side walls by hand. It does do wheelies every once in a while but then goes back to work as expected. Overall, over priced but I highly recommend and I will not live without one.
Much better than the aqua bot I purchased first.
The first picture is after 4-2 hour sessions with the aqua bot that I purchased first. The second picture is 1 session with the dolphin. Couldn't be happier with the results. I added the fine filter screens to it and started it again and looked even better.
Pricey but perfect!!!
I ordered this a couple months back and just now got to try it out. This thing is cool!! It is so easy to use. Easy directions. Just pretty much right or off the box, plug it up and drop it in, push the button. It even went up the sides of my pool and scared me at first because I thought, Omgggg it's gonna flip right over on its back lol nope! It just eased right back down and kept on trucking. This is my first pool and wanted to find something easy and low maintenance to help keep my pool sparkling clean. And I did not want those stupid vacuums you have to get in the pool and connect hoses to this and that. That's just more work then I want to bother with. Ain't nobody got time for that lol I use to have to do that in my parents pool years ago and that was a pain in the you know what. I have only used this once but it worked great. I just pray it last me a good long time because it is pricey. I'm so glad I got this. I have a 24'x54" above ground pool with vinyl liner. I know some people were asking if it worked on vinyl. Also the cord is great, did not get tangled up. Love this thing. Allows me freedom from having to spend hours cleaning before swimming. I used it in the evening so it wasn't in the sun and it would be ready for swimming tomorrow because directions said don't swim in the pool while unit is working. Also, after you start it, the unit will run for about 1 1/2 and stop but the power button will still be on. I didn't know this at first. Thought it broke until I read another review. So I believe in reading Lots of reviews lol
Works out of box in less than 5 minutes - Designed for Above Ground Pools
This picked up sand my manual net could not. Works great on my 15' above ground pool...even with wrinkles in liner pool bottom. It does climb pool cove and up walls a couple feet even. Build like a tank and muck larger than I expected (because it holds larger internal filter basket. You can buy fine particle upgrade filter basket but I will try filter sock first and see if that works or stretch pantyhose over basket. :)
Worth it
This thing is awesome! We had a vac that worked off suction from the pool pump (we have a intec and filter with salt....thing a ma bob and a 16ft above ground pool), we had probably spots of pollen and other debris roughly 2 to 3 inches think at the bottom of the pool. Suction vac would require us to backwash ever 15 minutes for it to move properly and actually work...done...got this guy, and while it took roughly 3 days...it did an amazing job!!! Now just need to run it once a week or so for the upkeep. I love that it doesn't need to use the pool pump for suction. Only thing I could gripe about is the power cord. I wish it had a swivel. If the cord gets twisted up due to the random pattern it goes, it sometimes doesn't allow the robot to move to poi t in the pool for the rest from the power outlet. The cord would twist up a bit and the robot wouldn't be able to have enough oomph to pull the twist out of the cord...bot a big deal...just a nice to have feature.
It worked great and I really tested it.
So I have an Intext 28 ft by 12 ft above ground pool. I left the cover off all winter and it was so full of dirt it was crazy. I had left about half the water in just below the pump lines. I thought about emptying it completely and scrubbing it clean but I thought let's see what this Robot could do. I thought about ordering the more expensive one but thought I would just try this one. I am not going to lie it took about 6 times to fully clean it. It never would finish as the basket would get full first. Once it was mostly clean I switch to the fine basket I ordered with it. It finished and it's crazy how clean it was. I took a video of it before I cleaned it and I just realized you can only post one video so I will take some pictures of it clean in the morning when its light. Some people have said it does not climb walls...it does for me sometimes it makes it halfway up the side sometimes all the way to the water level and it cleans the algae off the sides with the scrubber. I was not expecting it to climb walls so that was a great surprise. I have 4.5-foot walls. I made my own custom deep end to make it 1 foot deeper so its 5.5 in the deep end. It goes down in the deep end, and then back up no problem. I had one of those stupid so-called robot vacumes before that hooks up to the pump and it sucked. It sometimes leaves a tiny bit of dirt in the corners but hardly any. I just sweep that up and my skimmer picks it up. I really could not be happier with this. I had one of the dirtiest pools ever and it cleaned it. I run it twice a week now and it keeps it super clean.
Worth the money
I bought this when my pool was full of leaves and 50 degrees. I needed to close it, but wasnt about to get in it. I read many reviews and had a friend tell me it was worth it, and it certainly was. It took awhile to clean my pool, but it sure did. If I had had this over the summer, it would have saved me countless hours of cleaning using my old sweeper I had to hook up to use. This one just plugs in for power and you drop it in the pool, hit the on button and off it goes. When it fills with leaves, it will just stop running. You pull it out and take out the basket, dump the leaves, and its off again. I bought the extra fine debris basket and thought they had sent me the wrong kind. I tried to put it in and it wouldnt fit. What I figured out thanks to some reviews was that I had to take a part out for it to fit. Unfortunately, it didnt come with directions on how to do it. So, I got on YouTube and got the answer I needed, popped out the part, and it worked perfectly! I certainly recommend this product. Its worth the money!
Pricey but You Get What You Pay For.
Let me start by saying I read a million product reviews for a million kinds of automatic vacuums and handhelds alike. I noticed Dolphin had better reviews than most. I'm ashamed to admit that I'm using this on a 16' Intex above ground . The pool itself was ?250. This vacuum was twice the cost of the pool. I have a pool beneath a tree and I don't like to cover it. It's a pain in the ass to constantly fiddle with a cover. I have an Intex skimmer and it does an ok job. But I don't like to run pump
constantly either. The way I do things requires a decent vacuum. I tried the Intex automatic vacuum and it was good for a season and failed this year. Same with the Intex vacuum that came with the deluxe maintenance kit. Down two vacuums after just a season, I was done buying cheap solutions. This vacuum took less than two minutes to get in the water and running. Its a good weight, sturdy, feels well built. It cleaned my pool bottom spotlessly in one cycle. Despite what people say, it did go up some of my pool sides. It does occasionally wheelie around. Removing it was simple, pull the cord until you can grab the handle. There's a simple push latch for topside filter access. Hosing the filter down is easy and pieces dettach from filter housing for further cleaning access . The track came off my unit one time. I put it back and haven't had a problem since. It was expensive compared to many other solutions. However, my pool is now the cleanest it has been and I don't have to fuss with covers, manual vacuums, attachments to pumps or hoses. Just plug it in, drop it in, and walk away. If you're reluctant, don't be. It's a great unit for an above ground pool. If you can afford it, it's worth the money for the sake of automation and simplicity
Fabulous!
Just upgraded to the E10 from a different make of robot thats several years old. I am amazed at how quickly the E10 cleaned my pool, scrubbing the floor and eliminating the fine algae on the bottom. So worth it!
Dolphin E 10
Used in my 30? diameter above ground and it worked daily for 3-4 hours per day. Had a faulty power box, but that was quickly solved by there excellent service department. That was 2015. Since, moved to a 20×40 in ground with diving board and the E 10 has worked up to 9 hours per day and has done a great job. Excellent engineered product. Need to order new filter basket, but hey, after 50,000 miles your car needs new tires too.
Awesome
This robot saved my mind. I was having issues with algae and my cheaper robot died. Chemicals $$$$$$ vacuuming, etc. . I went online and researched and found Dolphin, the reviews were great, warranty looked good. I have a very large above ground and purchased the E10 online and followed advice on some reviews about the filters and within a week had a crystal sparkling pool. I brag about my Dolphin and HIGHLY recommend to all my friends with pool
It really works. Turn it on and walk away. Easy Peezy!
I wish I bought it earlier in the season. Great product. Easy to use, my pool is spotless! Well worth it!
Set it and forget it!... Kind of?
If I could reset it remotely.. it would get a 5/5!!
Such a BIG help
My husband is going to have knee replacement surgery and we needed something to help with the pool. This has been VERY helpful and a great little worker. Highly recommend.
Easy to use while saving time.............
Now that the 2019 pool season is over for me i can better describe my experience with the Dolphin E10. I was very pleased with the ability of the Dolphin to clean my 24ft above ground pool. Compared to prior seasons when i used the hoses and other attachments this was so much easier. I basically dropped it in, turned it on and forgot about it for a couple of hours. It cut my cleaning time in half.
Easy pool cleaning
This machine does a good job, the only drawback is it stops moving yet the blue light is still on at the control box. We are going to call tech support and see why it does this. It is heavy to lift out of the pool until the water drains out. I do like it as we don't have to get in the pool every time to clean it.
Dolphin E10
Vacuums very well. Purchased the fine filter separately and glad that I did. The fine filter is needed to capture the finer dirt particles. The biggest gripe that I have had is that the cord gets tangled. This product would be much better with a swivel mount for the cord. For the money that I spent I feel like this item should come with the fine filter included. Overall, works well.
Not Bad, but could be better
While the suction is good and it does a good job cleaning the center of the pool it doesn't do good around the edges of the Oval pool. It will climb the wall a little, but has a problem with the curves. I also find it gets tangled in its own cord at times. I also find it just doing wheelies and not really doing anything for awhile. Not sure if it is trying to untangle the cord or just preposition itself. I think the mapping software could be better. Storing the information of what it has cleaned and not would help get the whole pool cleaned. It might take two cycles due to the size/cleanliness of the pool but it would help. I have not owned a robotic cleaner before so I am basing my rating compared to having to do it with the standard vacuum. This does save a bunch of time.
Great robotic cleaner for the money!!
If you are familiar with the cost of robotic cleaners... you will appreciate the costing factor on this machine. The trade-off is the suction/capture apparatus of the machine but easily I am able to run it again after it's normal run to make up for that issue (and given the price point). I would recommend this device to anyone looking to obtain a budget friendly robotic pool cleaner. I have a 23,000 gal in-ground pool. I have several months of experience with this device.
This thing is amazing!
The only reason I did not give a 5 Star rating is because only God is perfect. I have been manually sweeping my pool for 20 years...why did I not get one of these sooner? I did not even know that a self contained cleaning system was available. I must admit my pool was really dirty. We had taken a brief motorcycle trip over Labor Day weekend and came home to a dirty pool. Two days later it was not only dirty, but turning green. ICK! I ordered on Saturday after much research and it was delivered on Tuesday. Opened the box...read the Quick Start guide...plugged it in...dropped the dolphin in the pool and turned it on. I wish I had taken my phone out there with me...I watched as it made its first trip across the pool. I watched for a few more minutes and then walked away for a few...45 minutes later. I turned it off and pulled it up to check the filter. WOW! Lots of small debris and gunk. Swished the filter basket with the garden hose - clicked it back into the dolphin and began again. I left the dolphin running overnight - was not aware that it would quit when it was "done." How do it know? To say the least, we are very pleased! I will probably invest in the extra fine filters (I truly feel at this price it should be included)...overall a very strong review. Buy it!
Very good robotic vacuum.
This is my second robotic vacuum for my semi in ground 16x25 pool but my first Dolphin. My first robotic vacuum was perfect - one cycle and the pool was spotless. But it died after three years. I figured Id give a more reputable brand a try. I like this Dolphin vacuum a lot. It does a great job at cleaning my pool, however it does not leave it spotless. The little that is left is definitely tolerable. I do put it on for a second cleaning cycle and it picks up more debris. I am satisfied with this and it will give you a very good cleaning.
Solid robot - good value for the money
This is my second above ground pool robot. Don't recall the other brand from maybe 5 years ago but it only lasted a season. The Dolphin E10 is super easy to use and the filter is very easy to clean. Plug it in, throw it into the pool, and walk away. Edges are inconsistency cleaned (24 foot round pool) but that seems mostly because the robot spends most of it's time criss-crossing the middle and spends less time on edges. These can be vacuumed. Only negative (which keeps me from 5 stars) is that fine particles aren't picked up. I'm ordering the so-called "Fine mesh filter" today as others recommend to see if this improves it. Would still buy it again...this robot works well.
Happy.
I'm new to the robot pool cleaners so I have nothing to compare it to. After reading other reviews, I decided to purchase the fine filter basket too. It does a good job on the places it doesnt miss. I have an oval pool, it tends to miss the corners. Overall, it is a time saver. I feel I'm better off with it than having to vacuum the pool myself. My only beef is having to purchase the fine filter basket additional.
Cord tangles up
Update, still having some issues but Im improving my rating. Very quick attentive customer service. Gave me several logical suggestions. 1) Leave the cord in direct sun pulled straight out. 2) alter the placement of where you place the robot in pool. Lastly, they offered remedy if I wasnt happy. Cant ask for much better than that. Ill update again later. I have a few days use on this so may update the review later. A couple things Ill mention now. Im using this on an above ground 30 pool. Im not sure how long its supposed to take for the robot to map out the pool, but it hasnt yet. Still leaves areas untouched. Not hug areas, more around a couple sides near the edge. **Heres the big thing that may cause me to return it. The cord gets tangled around itself, every time. Now for a unit near $500 Id expect that would be addressed. Its pretty important for goodness sake. Especially when you have a large pool that admittedly is at its max advertised range. By the way, The edges not cover are close. It seems to do a nice job otherwise. But the cord deal is a big problem.
Great Robot for above ground (be prepared to buy the fine filter separately)
I bought this for my 33' round above ground. It works great (with the fine filter - purchased separately). So much better than the Aquabot I bought(and returned) before buying this. The cord doesn't impede the robot like the Aquabot one did. It just works. I do have to run it more than once for it to touch the whole pool, but that is not a huge issue. It picks up leaves and bits, sand, hair, etc. Filter removal is easy. BTW (this is to Maytronics) It is a douche move to NOT include the good filter at this price point. That said, yes, you DO need the separate fine filter.. don't bother if you aren't willing to buy that too. The handle is great. To those buying their first robot, yes the handle is a big deal, as you cannot lift the robot out by the cord. I gave 4 stars due to the need to buy the fine filter separately, otherwise, it is a solid investment.
Inground pool
Works great for my inground pool. Exactly what I was looking for!
4 stars
Love this cleaner just wish it had a swivel cord
All right
I like it but only cleaned a quarter of our 27ft pool after a full cycle
Be careful of the chord!
I loved the dolphin - but for the amount of money that it cost - the chord constantly tangled up and had to be straightened out. For this reason I returned my dolphin. Would like to purchase another one if I can find a model in which this has been corrected.
Works fine
This guy saves time when it comes to vacuuming the pool. I do not have to spent 1-2 hours in the pool before I feel satisfied that the crud on the bottom is pretty well vacuumed and my family can swim. AND, if the weather/ water is too chilly for my liking in the morning, I dont have to worry about it because I just toss my robot vacuum in the pool & wait until its actually hot out ( Northern IL weather)
I would expect more for $500
I would expect more for $500 I have a 30 foot pool this thing runs its cycle and then shuts off it does not clean the entire pool I have to run it three times. Well that kind of money I would expect him to do a lot more it is a very stupid item and it just drives around wherever it wants to running over the same spot over and over and over
Dolphin E 10
I have only had my robot a couple of days so I cant comment on the durability. The Dolphin E10 I bought is doing a good job. I love it so far but some things stated in the paper work that comes with it are concerning. The first is product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. It also states do not pull out of the pool by the cord so be prepared to get creative unless you have a 2 ft pool. The warranty doesnt seem to cover much. Its a 24 month limited warranty. The warranty states it is your responsibility to prove this product was used in an environment with appropriate water chemistry. You may be required to submit records .In short I think I will continue to like the Dolphin provided it keeps working.
Not Impressed
Had a much cheaper Rover, did a much better job cleaning and the cord did not tangle. The only thing this one does better is it covers the pool better and goes up the walls, but as far as getting small debris, we went ahead and spent the extra $60 for the fine filter, our rover still gets more of the fine debris. The biggest complaint is the cord it constantly gets tangled, it needs a swivel. not very impressed Ii expected much better for the money...
but clogs easy and the finer material goes right through the filter
Cleans big stuff okay, but clogs easy and the finer material goes right through the filter. Cord gets twisted and difficult to straighten back out
Cleaning sand out of a pool
I am so angry that I spent all this money on this robot to clean out sand that my sand filter threw in my pool last year and it doesn't do anything. I've been running this thing every day for almost a month and I'll run it at 2 cycles every time and it has less than 1/4 sand in the basket. And yes I spent the money on the ultra fine basket. Don't waste your money
Dolphin worked only once and then could not be started ...
Dolphin worked only once and then could not be started again. It does not work. Waiting for a soon reply
Not working - purchased less than 1 month ago
Bought less than a month ago. Already broken. Have to send to manufacturer for repairs, which means I will be without a pool vacuum for weeks. Save your money!
Doesn't collect the dirt.
I've only owned the dolphin E-10 for a couple of weeks. The first couple of times the machine worked great. Now the dirt just shoots out of the top and at the end of the cycle, very little dirt and debris is collected. I did also purchase the fine filter basket and dirt still shoots right out of the top. For the price I expected much better. I will be returning this product.
Question
Why is my Dolphin not cleaning the walls or waterline?
Answer
This Dolphin is designed to climb the floor, but not up the walls or up to the waterline. You may see the Dolphin perform an arch on the wall as it works its way down.
Question
Why won't this cleaner climb the walls?
Answer
The above ground robotic pool cleaners are designed specifically for cleaning the FLOORS ONLY.
Question
What is the typical life span of a Dolphin robot?
Answer
The Dolphin is designed to last many seasons. However, the lifespan differs from Dolphin to Dolphin. Many different factors play a role, such as amount of use, pool chemistry, and pool surface.
Question
What DIY repairs can I complete on my Dolphin?
Answer
DIY repairs should be completed by an authorized technician. Please contact your local retailer for service, Maytronics directly at 1-888-365-7446 or the support page of their website.
