Head To Head Review Analysis

We think the Nautilus CC is a solid investment for your pool. There’s a reason it’s such a popular robotic pool cleaner – it’s because of its efficiency, durability, and easy maintenance. It isn’t the Ferrari of cleaners, and it isn’t a perfectionist at overcoming every single pool obstacle out there. However, it works hard and gets the job done respectably well. It’ll free up hours of your time without headache, and it’ll give you a net positive of time and energy you won’t regret investing in.

Based on our observations, the robot’s performance, and its price tag of roughly $750… The Nautilus CC Plus is a worthwhile purchase. While it isn’t perfect, this robotic pool cleaner is a workhorse. We don’t miss the bells and whistles of higher-end models because the Nautilus CC Plus isn’t hindered by its more basic features. Instead, it offers pool owners a steady and thorough cleaning without asking for too much of your time or money in return. If you’re on the fence about upgrading your robotic pool cleaner or even investing in one for the first time, the Nautilus CC Plus is a solid choice.

This is saving my family thousands

Zach Horowitz -

It might be a hefty purchase price, but this will ultimately save you thousands of dollars in the long run. We used to have a poll guy come our house every week and pay $50 to vacuum the pool, but this guy does it just as well. After about one summer, we have completely recouped the cost of the robot.

This thing is awesome!

Taylor -

This thing is awesome! It even gets all the fine, sand particles from the bottom of the pool! It gets the bottom, sides and up to the waterline. It has went on the lower two steps, but doesn't clean them too good. But, I knew that before buying it and it's not a problem. It's very lightweight and the cord has not tangled even though it does not have the swivel cord. Used on an in-ground gunite pool (35x18).

Wonderful!

Lynn Larson -

This piece of equipment is absolutely amazing! I wish i had before and after pictures. We had a ton of snow over the winter, and our cover got torn, filling the pool with leaves and debris, the water was black as coffee. After running the Dolphin for a week, the pool was the cleanest it has ever been, and the water is crystal clear. The sides of the pool are clean, including the ring around the pool at the water line. Worth every penny!

Great suction and cleaning

Terrific Trish -

We switched from an old Polaris to this dolphin. The cleaning power is amazing! We tested it on a dirty pool from all winter. A few trips across and it was clean! Not entirely happy with having to pull the cord to get it up out of the water but not paying extra for the lift either. Otherwise I do highly recommend.

My favorite robot so far (though its only been a week)

M. Buchholz -

I've had robots that were a pain to get to sink or not do wheelies. I've had robots with bottom loading filters/bags. I've had robots that got tangled relatively fast. This one has been GREAT so far. Only week but it's my favorite to this point. Just drop it in the water and watch him sink to the bottom. Top loading filter is a breeze to unload/clean/unload. No issues so far with tangling at all. And he's cleaning pretty darn good. Really happy so far and crossing fingers it stays as such.

My 3rd new dolphin and 1 had rebuilt.

This is the easiest of them all to clean. I had remote with my others and thought I would miss it, NO this hits all the areas in my pool. Is lighter and dirt from pool does not spill out like others did when lifting out.

Works great

R. Pro -

This was a purchase after my tiger shark just wasn’t worth fixing. The cleaner is soo much better, it does not get stuck on the bottom pickup, it is faster, cleans better, goes all the way to water line. I am really impressed how it actually cleans the swim outs and stairs. Very happy and a great price point for a serious cleaner.

No more hours spent cleaning the pool!

Hai -

This is one of my best purchased over the past couple years. I legit no longer have to clean the pool. I run this every couple days and my pool is pretty spotless. It's super easy to use. The only thing negative thing is that it doesn't do so with cleaning the steps but I can live with that. Did I mention that I don't have to spend hours cleaning the pool weekly?!

Works great!

Rohwan -

I had construction done on & around the pool, which a lot of debris from the concrete work has been difficult to remove from the bottom of the pool. This crawler cleaned it up in 3 runs. The basket had to be emptied each time... which was understandable considering the amount of debris it picked up. Does well cleaning up leaves & hackberries, too.

Money well spent

Melissa Williams -

This little thing is a life saver! AND money saver. This thing picks up absolutely everything off the bottom of the pool. My daughter and I both have long blonde hair. It grabs it all out of the water. We have ran this vacuum every day this summer and the only chemicals we have had to use is a chlorine tablet in the skimmer. Our water is crystal clear ALL THE TIME!! It is seriously amazing!

Easy to use cleaner

Lorraine B -

Love this new pool cleaner. Had a few Polaris brand robots over the years and they never cleaned as well as the Dolphin. You just plug into an outlet, put it anywhere in the pool and it does it’s thing. The debris basket holds so much and easy to clean. It does not climb the stairs in my pool and doesn’t seem to do two corners of the pool even after 2 cycles. To me that’s a minor inconvenience.

Cleans leaves out of pool like a champ!

David Giles -

My in-ground pool is surrounded by trees and it's a constant struggle to keep leave out. Recently my Kreepy Crawler Prowler 820 pool robot that I had used for 3 seasons, broke. It had worked fairly well, except it didn't pick up very many leaves. It was also heavy and I had to turn it upside down to pull out the 2 small-narrow baskets. Then the wheels broke, and I bought this Dolphin Nautilus CC Robotic Pool Cleaner primarily due to the large top load basket. I can't believe how well it works! I just dropped it right out of the box into the pool full of a week's worth of leaves, and 3 cycles later, the pool was sparkly clean. With the kreepy crawler Prowler, it would have taken at least a week and not picked up everything. I had none of the problems mentioned in some of the lower-rated reviews....such as cloudy water, low pressure, not reaching all of pool. My pool is a 20X40' rectangle, and I just placed the power unit about in the middle so it would reach all areas. I am extremely happy with this product!

Best Pool Cleaner on the Market

DJ -

This product is amazing! I read several mixed review about how it didn't come with a lot of instructions. This is because a lot of instructions are not required! I literally boxed it, threw it in the pool, waiting an hour and then called and fired my pool guy! I've had a pool guy for the last year and within 2 hours, this product cleaned the pool better than he ever has! Worth every penny!

This little robot is amazing!

John Nelson -

I use my Dolphin Nautilus CC about once per week, and I must say it is an amazing device! I take it off the caddy, plug in the extension code, take the power unit and the robot about 15 feet out to the pool, gently put it in the water, turn on the power unit, and then I go about my normal activities. My pool is kidney shaped with steps, and it climbs the walls effortlessly and though it struggles on the steps sometimes, it does an amazing job of cleaning the pool of even the finest silt and sand, which is a problem now that Hurricane Michael removed practically every tree I had. Overall, I love the fact that the default filter basket is so fine because as I said, even the finest silt is removed and retained within the filter. Wow! Even better, cleaning the filter takes about 2 minutes and requires a water hose and it is just the most convenient process I have seen in a long time. I rate this pool cleaner as one of the best purchases that I have ever made (along with my wood pellet grill). I recommend very highly!

Super pool cleaner!

Lee Lippert -

This is a great buy! Has a large basket for collecting leaves. Picks up the smallest bits of stuff that settles at the bottom. Easy to use and empty. Absolutely love the ability to set it so it automatically runs at the same time everyday without me having to push a button. I had initial concerns about the ability of it to reach the deep end of the pool, 9ft, but it has no problem keeping the bottom clean. Also, my pool is fiberglass and this thing does an amazing job keeping it clean. It goes all the wall up the walls, even a bit out of the water, and keeps the walls clean. Super product!!!

30,000 gallon pool

Winnie M. -

We have a very big pool so was worried the vacuum wouldn’t reach everything. At the first go it wasn’t able to reach all of the pool but that was my fault for not putting the control panel as close as I can to the pool. At the second go I angled the wire better so it just made right to the steps of the pool but not enough wire to go up the second step. However I knew it wouldn’t really clean stairs anyways. All in all I love this robot, so easy just place in pool press button and done. Instead of sweating in the sun and vacuuming with my old portable vacuum which took over an hour. Clean up of this robot is a breeze too. All I have to do now is just brush the steps of my pool and I’m done. The robot kind of goes randomly all over the place but in the 2 hours it magically cleans the pool and even climbs my steep walls beautifully. I personally don’t leave it in the pool because the control panel is water resistant NOT water proof. But compared to vacuuming myself, it’s not that hard at all to take it out and put it back in each time I want to clean the pool. Even my little sister can do it. I never really write reviews but I love this product so much.

Time saver

Aubrey D. Duncan -

I have had the Dolphin for a few weeks now and it has worked very well. It did miss two corners in the deep end, but that is because the wall has an angle which makes it hard for it to hit with the brush. A quick push with the pool brush in those corners and it swept the whole pool clean the next time and since. It does a good job with fine particles that the normal water wheel cleaners will miss. I love that you can just drop it in the pool and let it clean while you do something else.

I bought this for my adult son who bought a house with a in ground pool. He was a slave to the pool the first summer and his wife had just given birth. I gave it to them at Christmas so they'd have it when they opened this pool in May. This little robot does the job and does it well. it's certainly worth the investment. I read other reviews and decided to buy the extended warranty in case they had problems. it's been 2 months in use and is going strong. The pool is always in great condition.

MingoFan -

So happy with this purchase! I started the season with a messy, green, dirty pool and no clue how to get it to swimming condition. After balancing all the chemicals, I took another pool owner’s suggestion and got this robotic cleaner. It’s fantastic!! I replaced the original filter panels with the “ultra-fine” version, and now my pool is crystal clear. This robot is so easy to use, the filter basket cleans quickly with a hose, and even this old lady with a twinge-y back can lift the Nautilus out of the pool without any trouble. Highly recommended!

Works great

Jonathan Morrigan -

This thing is great. Works like a roomba and is random but throw it in and the bottom is spotless in a few hours. Gets just above the water level, doesn’t climb all the way out but is fine for us. Cable never tangles. Ours has none of the fancy Bluetooth or anything but on or off. Fine with me but wish it came on when the pool pump and outlet came on automatically. Pulls out easy but the entrained water could be heavy for some. Got the extended warranty due to some of the reviews. One track comes off every so often but pops right back on.

Adam Kinney -

I was hesitant about getting one of these because of the cost but after having it a few days and seeing how well it cleaned my pool I’m sold. It does the floor, slope and the walls. Even a little above the water line. It’s going to be nice actually enjoying my pool instead of having to clean it for 15-20 minutes every day before anyone goes swimming. We have woods around our property so we end up with leaves and other tree debris in the pool and this thing has cleaned it all. So worth the purchase.

I have always had the cleaners that attach to the pool filtration system. I wish I would have switched to this self contained unit years ago! It's so easy to use, no hose getting in the way while using the pool, no extra trap to clean to minimize what makes it to the strainer basket. Easy in and out for cleaning and minutes to clean the basket and built in filters. Collects way more debris and less wear and tear on the pool motor and system. Our pool has never been cleaner. It's only been a little over a month, I hope it continues to operate as well as it does. Awesome!!!

Dolphin Nautilus CC Robotic Pool Cleaner with Top Load Filter Basket Ideal for Pools Up To 35 Feet

Glenn Duch -

I have a 27' round above ground pool. This cleaner does an amazing job on the pool walls and bottom. I highly recommend to cleaner to anyone. The power supply that's shipped with the Dolphin Nautilus CC does not come with the fast clean mode or delay feature on the power supply. However these 2 features are on the power supply but do not work. This isn't a big deal. I've been using the daily cycle mode twice a week and that's plenty.

It just works.

Necator -

This is a simple but effective design that saves a ton of time that would otherwise be spent scrubbing and vacuuming. Device feels sturdy but not abrasive enough to be harmful if it ran up on someone dumb enough to jump in with it going. If I were to be critical of anything it would be the filter can be a little hard to "flush" out. This thing makes pool cleaning so easy the only thing I complain about is untangling the cord and cleaning the filter!

Jacob W. Dolecki -

It’s difficult to state in English words how much I like this product. However, what I can say is it’s the best purchase I’ve made in years. I went from spending several hours a week (some days more than an hour a day, depending on the debris) manually cleaning my ~25k gallon in-door pool in central NY, to spending next to no time cleaning. Not only that, this lovely piece of engineering coolness makes our pool so much cleaner than I could ever do manually. Sure, the initial price tag is intimidating but the time saved and reduction in chemicals needed since the pool is now cleaner than it’s been is worth every penny. In the end, we have saved time and money for me to recommend this product to anyone who has a pool.

G. Winslow -

By far the best cleaner I have used - this is the second dolphin cleaner i've purchased, the first was 10 years ago -that one was very dificult to clean with the cloth bag that had to fit around a framework and was a pain to maintain. This cleaner could not be easier to clean - open the top and lift out the basket which you then clean - COULD NOT BE EASIER!! Cleans the pool better than any cleaner I have used - period. I have an inground 30 foot pool peanut shaped - and it get's every square foot clean. I have used suction cleaners (barracuda and one other type) and this blows them away.

First season use, still going

Boise Gal -

We were on the fence about this purchase. We decided to do our own pool care this season and this made it fool proof. We use it once a week and it pulls up quite a bit of sandy debris and dead bugs. Our pool is chlorinated and slightly irregular shaped with a concrete bass and it does a good job. It does miss some parts so we will usually run it again. It seems to weigh a bit coming out of the pool but it’s not impossible. It does use electricity and we are lucky to have an outlet 10ft from the pool otherwise I think it would add another pain point. I’ll report back as needed. So far, 7 uses later, it works great and seems easy to maintain. A cycle takes us 2-3 hours and we run it in the early morning and remove it when our family uses the pool in the afternoon or evening. If you use a roomba vacuum or similar, you’ll be used to the quirks and function.

I ordered this cleaner before leaving on a 5 day camping trip. When I left my pool was clear and mostly clean with the exception of some accumulated debris in the bottom. When I arrived back home my pool was green and disgusting with green algae all over the bottom and many leaves from a nearby wisteria tree. I opened the box the dolphin arrived in from amazon. I attached the blue cable to the power unit, plugged it in, powered it on, and put it in the pool. The dolphin took off and went to work. The little guy went all over my pool, climbing walls and even going behind my ladder. There was not a spot untouched. The green algae was completely gone. I let it go through the entire 2 hour cycle, then removed it. I have a 15 x 30 above ground pool. This thing worked so well I wish I had purchased it years ago! The cost is a bit much, but after having used the hoses and vacuum on the long handle and having to climb into the pool to get to the entire thing, this is well worth the $615 I spent! I highly recommend this pool cleaner, especially if you’re the only one that ever vacuums the pool. Saves tons of time and effort and stress free :

Geffrey Palmer -

Just got this and am replacing a 4 year old dolphin. So far, I am impressed with how its not sticking to the drain covers, EASY clean cartridge, and how the brushes spin faster than my old one. I've seen reviews with people saying it doesn't pick up roof granular, mine does! Saw other units that were more expensive but the filter wasn't as big as this one. As far as the cord, I do wish it was a little longer, I have a 20'x40' and I have to set the unit in the middle of the pool for it to get the entire pool. Also, the cord, for people who cant read the owners manual, you need to disconnect it once a week from the control unit and unwind it (NO BIG DEAL).

J.Y. -

It works! The filter basket picks up the finest silt. The first day we used it, it was full of silt. We live out in the country. It is hard to find someone to work on and clean the pool. This robot cost the same as 2-1/2 professional pool cleanings and did a better job. We had yellow algae and after killing it, the little guy scrubbed it off of the sides. I had no idea the pool could get that clean. I read negative reviews. And after having watched it work, I can understand how it might be confusing to some and appear as though it isn't working. It works...trust me. My pool is constantly bombarded with debris and dog hair. My pool is 10 - 12,000 gallons. The cord is just long enough to reach. If you have a large pool, you will need a longer cord.

I absolutely love my Dolphin Nautilus CC Robotic pool vacuum! I just bought a home with an inground pool. I have never owned or managed a pool before so I am learning everything. After two struggling attempts to manually vacuum my pool using the suction from the pool pump, I started researching robotic pool vacuums and cane across this one. It arrived at my doorstep just in time. It was completely assembled and ready to drop in the pool. The dolphin took off cleaning every nook and cranny, climbing the walls and everything. I have the control set for my robotic to clean my pool every 4 days and now I get to simply enjoy my pool rather than work at my pool! It’s amazing!!

I purchased the Dolphin Nautilus CC, since my kreepy krauly had died. The pool filled up with sand and leaves from the 2 mesquite trees in my backyard, imagine leaves the size of rice, and no problem the Nautilus CC picked it all up with ease. I emptied 5 chambers the first night. The next day we tried to tackle the finer sediment off the bottom, but the filters that came with it just weren't trapping it very well. Went to my local Maytronics dealer and picked up a pack of filters, model 9991466-R4 for $55. The chamber has 8 screws and replacing the filters took me about 15 minutes or so. Today we're running it with the new filters, I'll be sure to update if there's a huge change or if I have to get out the manual vacuum head. Update, after using the new filters, I 100% recommend this machine. It really picks up the fine sand, clay dust, dirt, the powdery silt that the basic filters missed. Rinsed the filters out with spray handle on my hose.

I deployed the robot into the pool and connected it to the power and it immediately started working. It operated as expected for two hours and stopped like it was supposed to. I lifted it out of the pool and it is heavy while the water drains out but this thing did a great job. Cleaned the debris bin out. Thing works great. I may be purchasing the cart next. I have an inground freeform pool that is shaped like a kidney bean and has 80 perimeter feet and is 5 feet deep in the middle and is considered a play pool and has a minipebble finish.

Exactly what I wanted

Katrina Fortunato -

own a large inground pool & am so happy to have purchased the Nautilus CC. It cut the time I had to spend vacuuming the pool, cleaning the filter, etc.. more than in half. The first vacuum I owned lasted exactly 1.5 years, right when the warranty expired, so to be on the save side, I purchased the extended warranty, too. Customer service is outstanding, I owned the Nautilus CC for not even one month when my sister & kids came for a visit, memorial day weekend. Her kids were in the pool for not

even 10 minutes when they accidentally pulled the power supply into the water ( we can't pick family, right?) I emailed customer support & received an email back saying that I should call the 1-800 number instead, due to high customer volume. I called & explained to the very friendly representative what had happened & was pleasantly surprised when he informed me that they will send a new power supply box right away - free of charge - even shipping was for free!!! I asked a second time - " it's really for free, even though it was my fault?" The answer was "yes" again & I received the item 3 days after calling. Because I read previous reviews, I was aware that it would come without power cable. All together, the nautilus CC does exactly what it is supposed to do - I wasn't too impressed for the first week, as the pool water was really dirty with a lot of leafes & dirt at the bottom. The filter that comes standard is best for small debris - but once the water cleared up & is blue again I am impressed by the filter, also - I own a chocolate lab & a golden retriever who can't resist jumping into the water any chance they get & the vacuum even sucks up the dog hair & gets trapped in the filter!! Overall, it is a great purchase, especially for the price! I would highly recommend the Nautilus CC

I have been trying to convince myself that the expense of a robotic pool cleaner was worth it. After my 3rd year of being a pool owner and lugging out the manual vacuum, pole, hose, submerging the hose, fussing with the pump I finally broke down and bought this one. OMG I love it. You drop it in the pool, turn it on and it runs and picks up everything on the bottom of the pool. Our deep end is 8' and it will be all the way at the bottom and crawl all the way to the water line. It is pretty amazing. I can sit and watch it work for hours (ok thats an exaggeration but still) as it is very interesting how it creeps around the pool in what seems like a haphazard formation but in about 2 hours there is not a single leaf or speck of dirt anywhere on the pool. The control box sits easily under a bush and you can set it to run automatically daily, every other day or every 3 days. The filter container is amazing at filtering out the smallest of sand particles. Im amazed every time I pull it up to clean it out that there is so much sand in the basket. We have recently put the solar cover on the pool for our "cold Florida winter" and I was curious how it would work with the cover and crawling up to the water line but it has not had any problem. I do not have any issues with the Dolphin at all. I have to say it was money very well spent thus far. I have not had to lug out the old vacuum since I bought it.

Does a very good job of cleaning and vacuuming the pool. The problem, as others have noted, is the bottom of the inner basket opens too easily which dumps all the debris out inside the dolphin. Not a huge deal, but it's frustrating. Also, I cannot get the bluetooth to work. I don't really need it to work, but I thought it would be cool to let my little girl drive it in the pool.

This unit is better than the Kreepy Krawly cleaner that is very basic, but for the money and according to the write up, I thought it would do much better. Does not get every square inch of the pool and after the unit shuts off small dirt particles settle to the bottom of the pool again. We have to run it 3-4 times in a row just to get the bottom of the pool 90% clean. We had to run it 10 times when we opened the pool and the pool was not that bad.

MDC -

This robot works quite well on my rectangular 12,500 gallon pool. It climbs the pool walls and easily covers any obstacles in the pool. I love the fact that I now rarely need to vacuum the pool which also means backwashing is also reduced. The one area I'm a bit disappointed in is that it does tend to twist & tangle the cord if not straightened out after every few runs.

I really like my robot cleaner, however, I read the manual & it stated that I could put it on "fast" mode so it won't climb the walls. But this robot doesn't have that feature & the lights on the computer do not light up. I have had it for a year so I doubt there's anything I can do about returning now. Also, my basket will open occasionally when I pull it out & it is also hard to pull out of the robot. It really cleans my pool good except for a crevice here & there it may miss. Sometime I do it twice in one day to get every nook & cranny.

Very happy with this vacuum

Sue Merli -

This was my first Robotic Pool cleaner which was purchased this year. I was very pleased with its overall cleaning capabilities. I have an above ground which was usually cleaned with various auto vacuums attached to the pump skimmer for the last 25ish years. Pro's are that its easy to use, easy to clean, it's light weight (after the water is drained), & needs very little attention. It cleans the walls with ease. I also like the ability to set a cleaning program. The Con's: the cord gets tangled up and requires de-tangling about once a month. This should be an easy design fix. If the unit is pulled out on the side of the pool due to the weight of the water, it will eventually wear the brushes out or break them off. The cleaning screens are great for the majority of the dirt but not the fine dust. The fine screens are a bit expensive too.

Great Robot

Marc S. -

imple facts: This was my first robot and totally worth it. I used to spend an hour a week vacuuming my pool but I haven't vacuumed since using this robot. It does a great job. Took it out of the box, plugged it in, and within minutes it was cleaning. Climbs the walls and is worth the price. It pops wheelies, spins around, goes back and forth...I don't know what it does for two hours but it gets the pool clean. The power pack for this model does NOT support blue tooth, fast clean, or delayed clea

aning. I'm guessing the power pack is standard for all models so to use the other features on the pack you must pay for the more advanced models. It doesn't clean the steps but I can live with that. The cable does get a little tangled regardless of the "smart technology" described in the features. Be careful it doesn't pull your pack into the water for a bad day. I laid my cable out straight in the hot sun a few times which helped minimize tangles. My robot lives in the pool, except when swimming, for the most part to prevent dry rotting in the sun. Easy to clean in about 15 minutes and operate. I program mine to clean every day for two hours. Pool store recommended electric type because it does not impact your pump or require anything but a GFI outlet. It has plenty of cable for our in-ground Grecian style vinyl liner pool, 30 feet long by 14 feet wide and 8 feet deep. When swimming pull out the robot and place it upside down to prevent deforming the rubber tracks/brushes. It's easy to pull out once the water drains and is fairly light. Four stars only because all the extra program features are not included and the cable tangles a little bit sometimes

Good but not for a curved pool or sand.

TG -

I like the product and it is easier to clean the pool, but it took about 3 passes the first time I used it because I live in the desert and sand is the big issue. I picks it up mostly with the ultra fine filter but it doesn’t cover the curved corners or the steps at the end of the pool. The pool is about 4 1/2 ft throughout and while rectangular it has curved corners.

Does a decent job cleaning the pool but I don't really feel like it's worth the price. This is my first pool robot so I can't speak to how it compares to other models. It doesn't get the whole pool surface in a 2-hour cleaning period so if there are specific areas that are dirty I end up needing to get them with a hand vacuum. When it just needs a touch-up cleaning the robot does a good enough job.

Only one cleaning cycle.

Teresa Caruso -

This cleaner works great if you use the fine debris filter which is sold separately. But it does not have a floor only option, so if you have stairs or lights or whatever on your pool walls, it's not a good choice. Unfortunately, the cheaper model has terrible reviews and the next model up is almost twice the price. Not worth it for one feature.....I'll watch the robot while it's running instead.

Does a pretty good job so far

ANGELA M MARANDA -

Likes: It does clean the pool very well- where it does go. Dislikes: It does seem to miss parts of our pool consistently. We have an "L" shaped pool and oftentimes it ignores the shallow end (smaller part of the L). It may do "some" work there - but never cleans it completely.

Stunt rider or robo vac? You decide.

Thomas Prince -

When it actually works, it does a pretty good job. It has a tendency to 'ride wheelies' with one set of wheels off the pool floor. This doesnt allow it to suck in any trash and it's basically useless. It does this mostly after changing direction or after coming away from the walls. Once it gets back onto the floor it has great suction and has picked up algae, leaves, bugs, twigs and a dead frog. However, out of a 2hr cycle, only about 40mins is actual cleaning time and not stunt riding. The basket is a slick system for cleaning - quick rinse with the hose and you're ready to go again. However, after maybe 8 uses, the handle on the basket broke and wouldn't fold down as intended. I had to remove it completely to continue using the vac. Maybe it would work better in a pool with a level bottom and no depth variation??

it works ok--not great

CC -

The Dolphin does not clean the pool as well as the Hayward Tiger Shark did. That said it didn't cost over a $1000.00 either. It is FAR easier to get out of the pool. The filter element is FAR easier to remove and clean. However due to the design it does not clean well where the pool sides and bottom meet. Though this is not a Tiger Shark review I will say the TS is terrible in terms of durability. I replaced all the bearings three times in 7 years. I replaced the drive belts also. For the money I would never own another Tiger Shark. The thing died when the motor burnt out-- 7 years.

Great pool cleaner, terible tangly cord

The Price Family -

This is my second "Dolphin" in ground cleaner, purchased for a new pool at a new home. What LOVE about this cleaner is that its super easy to use and does a great job (where it gets). I particularly love the basket rather than the bag filter. It is so much easier to empty and rinse, and it seems to do just a good a job filtering the water. My one complaint, and its a big one, it the cord. The cord is the WORST. It constantly tangles, even though we stretch out and leave it in the sun as instructed. And, when the cord is only slightly tangled, it does not pull hard enough to reach the farther areas of the pool. I'm not sure what the deal is, as our previous Dolphin (Purchases around 2005?) never had any issue with a tangling cord. Regardless, I still recommend this cleaner, but forewarn you of frustration.

Multi-Function power supply is not Multi-Function on this model

Martin -

Just be careful about the wrong advertisement on the Nautilus Dolphin CC. Maytronics seems to advertise about the different mode of the Multi-Function power supply directly on the Dolphin CC page which finally, reading the manual, you'll see that thia option won't be compatible with this model. I was told that this option is only for high end model and yes, you can read through the manual to finally find that the option is not available. But watching at the web site advertising page for the Dolphin CC, you'll "think" that the other function are available when you what the video and different pictures. Gave also just 3 stars because sometimes, the robot don't really clean all the pool correcly by avoiding some area. If I knew, I would have paid more for the higher end model.

Tangled

bofh88 -

I've had this for about 6 weeks now. It cleans my 10,000 gallon in-ground pool as expected and reached up to the tiles. My biggest issue is the cord keeps getting twisted and tangled. About once every 1-2 weeks I have to take it out of the pool and stretch out the cord along my deck in the sun. This helps a little bit, but sure enough in a few days it is back to one big twisted mess. Too bad the cord does not pivot where it connects to the cleaner. I am on the fence whether I would buy it again. It cleans well, but I was not expecting this much cord maintenance.

Adam Shepard -

This has been a relatively good cleaner. I have a couple minor things that need repair or replacement. However, 16 months after purchase the power supply completely died. It will not come on. Of course it is no longer under warranty. And it is a very expensive replacement. Nearly half the cost of a completely brand new pool cleaner. I am not suggesting you find a different pool cleaner. I am simply saying you may want to do further research to see who else is having similar issues with their power supply.

When you can get it to run it works great. There is some glitch that I have read others have had. I turn it on, it runs for 10 seconds to one minute and then it shuts off. I have to hit the run button again. Sometimes it will run and sometimes I have to turn it on and off multiple times before the thing will start up. Wish I had purchased something else but this one had good reviews.

Nothing smart about navigation on this unit. Does not work well if pool has a safety ledge

Jill -

Most disappointing purchase in a long time. I don’t see any “smart navigation” with this vacuum at all. Very random. Spends more time “trying” to climb walls than it does cleaning the floor. Many times it will only stay on one end of pool. The power source has a quick clean feature but that feature doesn’t apply to this product. This would allow the cleaner to just clean the floor. My pool has a safety ledge around the bottom perimeter making wall climbing difficult and the vacuum does not remove debris collected in rounded portion between the floor and wall. I read reviews ad nauseum on robotic pool vacs, including this one. Could just be the design of my pool.

Broke after 2 weeks

Annie -

This thing was a problem from the start. It sped around super fast, stirring up the stuff it was supposed to be vacuuming up. My pool would just stay cloudy, then I took this thing out and let it settle, and it had dirt in big clumps all over. So after having this thing running for several weeks, cleaning the pool and vacuum everyday, my pool was a mess. (images attached of after using this thing for several weeks and pool settling) When I tried cleaning it, the basket would fall apart easily, I tried to return it, and the seller drew out the process, so it was past the 30 day mark. They said they would return it, that I must have gotten a defective one, then decided that they wouldn't return it, so they stink, just like their product. I'm not a novice at taking care of a pool, I grew up with one, have always had one and taken care of it...Don't waste your money!

I bought it through Amazon and was excited to use it. I tried it twice a day for a week and it only made the water very cloudy. I noticed the first time i dropped in the pool that it only circulated the dirt from the bottom of the pool as i noticed a cloud of dust comes out from the top. I tried few more times and the water didnt improve - it made it more cloudy. Fortunately, i was able to return it through Amazon. Thank God for Amazon return policy.

Sarah Scott -

Just do it. You know you want to. You won't regret it. Yes it sometimes misses a spot or two. So you clean the vac and run it again if that one little spot is bugging you, or leave it because now vacuuming is so easy you can just do it again soon. It won't clean the stairs, so when I go swimming, I use a brush or my hands and push any debris on the stairs into the main pool and then the vacuum gets it. I was a little hesitant due to the number of one and two star reviews showing that a higher-than-preferred number of these things have issues. I'm very happy I pulled the trigger. I've had this for one season and had no issues. Design wise, they should include a removable cap on the vacuum cord end that plugs into the control unit, similar to the cap that is on the control unit. Mine has come into contact with concrete a few times and it shows. Nothing affecting operation, and happened due to my lack of care, but I'm sure this happens to others and seems like a cheap enough piece that will help this last longer.

Have had a in-ground pool now for 20 years and had always used the cleaner you have to hook up the side pressure hose too. Well I did some research and purchased this product and can't say enough how satisfied I am!! Should have gotten one years ago. The unit is easily placed in pool, just touch the on pad and away she goes. Cleans great. When its finished it shuts off and you remove from pool. Open the two top doors and remove filter elements, clean them and ready for the next time. It can be heavy when removing, but keep in mind its full of water so just ease it out to allow draining.

Bought this before last year swim season. Wanted to wait to review until used it for a season. I am extremely pleased. It climbs walls, does not get stuck, climbs a couple of stairs, cleans the whole pool in about 2 hours (16X32 plaster sport pool). The cord does not tangle. It does a great job of cleaning the pool and leaves the water sparkling clean. Never need to hand brush the walls. Just drop it in and push the button. It even works underneath the safety cover. The filters are easy to remove and clean with top loading. I would recommend getting the caddy for ease of storage and moving it

Very impressed

My boyfriend and I did extensive research on pool vacuums. We didn’t know whether we should go with a Polaris or Dolphin and we didn’t want to spend a ton of money either. We didn’t need the fancy app feature bc you really only need to clean the pool a few times a week unless you have tons of debris from trees, etc, that go into your pool but it’s pretty dry in Sacramento in the summertime. And we store our pool vacuum in our garage so we’d have to take it out anyways when we want to use it. We decided to go with this Dolphin pool vacuum and couldn’t be happier. It does a fantastic job and it was super easy to set it up, took me about 10 minutes to get it out of the box and into the pool! Our pool is about 15,000 gallons and it takes about 45 minutes to an hour to clean the entire pool. We love it and definitely recommend this pool vacuum.

Bridget (Weide) Brooks -

Love our new Dolphin pool cleaner! We call him "Jaws" because he pops out of the waterline unexpectedly. But wow, does he do a great job. We got him right at the end of the 2019 pool season, so I'm excited to see how he performs after a full season of cleaning, but already he's making a difference. Leaves and dirt had started to turn the pool cloudy. I couldn't believe the number of leaves he picked up the first cycle he ran! He helped turn the pool back to crystal clear. The process to clean out the cartridge is super easy. The design of the cartridges is genius. My only complaint is that the tread slipped off the tires twice out of the 30 or so cycles we ran. But he would shut down when that happened, so no harm, no foul. Oh, and he didn't like our baby pool, which has a max depth of 2 feet and a zero depth entry/exit area. But he did great in the regular pool.

It works with acorns!

Geosch -

We have a 20x40 pool (9 feet deep at the deep end) that is surrounded by scrub oak trees. The trees dump a lot of treebeards in the spring, acorns in the summer and leaves in the fall. I had a Barracuda that I was constantly unplugging, or adjusting the jets to get a reasonable operation. This Nautilus was a bit pricey, but it works like a charm - from Day 1. The coverage is 100% and it picks up everything (my acorns have not gotten larger than an inch, but it is handling those)! It has created so much time for me to do other more enjoyable activities. And the pool really sparkles. And it does clean my water line. My only "problem" is the cleaning of the 2 filters after every run. Not a big deal, and it only takes 5 minutes, but perhaps one of the other models with a large basket would have been better (and costlier). Great piece of technology, and I have no idea how the secret algorithms work. Enjoy!

This cleans WAY better than my old Polaris. WAY WAY better. But for me, it's actually more work. I just left the Polaris in the water all the time, but I feel like I need to take much better care of this since it was so expensive. So I take it out of the water every time it finishes and I store it under cover since it says to keep everything out of the elements. It's a lot of heavy lifting. Also, it's hot here in Texas so the pool water is already near the maximum temperature the instructions say is safe.

Love this robot cleaner

C. Haney -

Just received yesterday and love it so far! My large in-ground pool (8.5' deep) had quite a bit of debris from the winter months and after a few cleaning cycles it looks awesome! I was also wondering if this robot is truly "plug in and go" and it really is. Very simple and user friendly. I was worried that the fine dirt wouldn't be picked up but that is no issue for this robot. I also love the fact that we didn't need a booster pump. We switched from a Polaris sweeper that was always having issues to this and couldn't be more happy. Cleaning the filters is a breeze as well, simply remove, hose off and re-insert. Not sure how long they will last but design is robust it seems. The only slight drawback is that it doesn't appear to be able to navigate our stairs/platform but that isn't a big deal, we will just sweep the dirt down and I didn't buy the cart so I am not sure how/where we will store it when not in use. For the price, I would have thought the cart to be included.

Dolphin Nautilus Robot Cleans ALL the Pool Surfaces Well

Pierre -

Pros: Climbs the walls well, good suction, easy to changeout the filter material, 2 filter types included to address your leaf problem or to pick up very fine sand or particulate matter/organics that sink to the pool bottom. It seems to figure out the shape of your pool and adjusts cleaning patterns accordingly, and the floating cord with spin-float relief does not get tangled around the unit. When it runs over the main drains it backs up then adjusts angle to ensure it cleans the total drain surfaces. Much better reliability/lasting service with the Dolphin than my prior Aquabot Elite pool robot that had a burned out/seized motor in less than a year and it was terrible to get serviced without paying for mailing it in under warranty. Cons: sometimes I want to have the robot run daily, but the power supply control gives you three LED options and daily is not one of them. It is designed to run once a week on its own when you are away from the pool on vacation, and does a super job, just keep the 4 filter panels clean and happiness will abound.

This is a great unit. Not cheap

Alex Denes -

This is a great unit. Not cheap, but worth the price. I had a suction-side pool sweep before, but it kept getting stuck, and I hated that the unit and its hose were constantly sitting in the pool. I run this for 2 1/2 hours twice a week, and it does a fantastic job. Never gets stuck, climbs the walls and even cleans the tile at the water line. Then you take it out, and your pool is free and clear for use. No hoses. Water and pool are crystal clear. They want you to store it upside down, which I don't like because it scratches the plastic. So I bought an optional caddy ($120) which stores the cleaner and the power supply neatly, and is on wheels so it's easy to move around.

Best auto filter that I’ve ever owned.

Harry L. Perry -

Filters are very easy to clean. Easy to take out of the pool - heavy for a couple of seconds while the water drains from the robot. SO, only use the cord to bring it to you; and once it’s nearby, lift the robot from the water by its handle. Comes with two sets of filters, 1 set regular cloth mesh for dirt and debris and a fine particle filter made of a corrugated material. Also like that pool filter pump doesn’t have to be on for the robot to do its job - I option to put it in (always when swimmers out) during circulation pump off-cycle, ...saves electricity because the circulation pump now needn’t work as hard (no longer suckin’ on a Kreepy Crawler), nor as long, since the auxiliary filtering function has been offloaded Have owned Polaris, Keeps Crawler in the past - they don’t come close to this one.

I didn’t expect much, but I did expect it to do some cleaning. We have a tree in our backyard that sheds like mad... and as much as I enjoy sweeping our pool twice a day, it does get old after a while. So we decided to get a robot. This awesome robot! It arrived a couple of days ago. We’ve only had to use it once, but this thing is thorough. What i did in 2 or 3 skim-vacuuming session, it did in 2 hours!!! I’m also glad i didn’t order the ultra fine filters because there were 2 pairs of them in the box. I haven’t used them yet. The spring filters did the job just fine. Cleaning the filters are easy with a hose. I don’t know how it manages to not get tangled in the cords, but i was waiting for it to but it never did. I practically threw the robot in the pool, and i walked away. I came back 30 minutes later, and it was climbing the walls and stairs and bobbed high enough on the surface edges to pick up any debris that is floating around. Will post an update at how it holds up, but so far, i think I made the right choice on this one.

I had to replace a really old, falling apart robot, so I spent quite a bit of time looking through the options. My research indicated this unit did a pretty good job, had nice features, fairly easy to clean, and wasn't ridiculously expensive like a few of the units out there. Overall, I'd say spot on! The unit does a good job cleaning and it's fairly easy to pop open the top to get the filters to wash them out. It also came with a set of extra duty filters. I plan to use those after pool opening and if the pool gets too dirty. Otherwise the normal filters do a great job filtering day to day stuff out of the pool. I've been using it on a daily cycle and it sticks to the scheduled time quite well. It did such a good job, I forgot about it for a couple weeks at one point. It seemed to have stopped it's daily cycle toward the end, so I think it expects to have the cycle reset occasionally since you should be cleaning it regularly. Overall no complaints so far

We've had the Dolphin Nautilus Plus for 3 months now. Worked straight out of the box. We have a gunite 36X18 inground pool with tanning ledge, seat and spa. The Dolphin climbs everything but the tanning ledge. I believe it is because we didn't start it on the ledge so it never recognized/memorized it in the GPS. Whatever the case, its not a biggie. We just sweep the ledge into the pool prior to starting the Dolphin. Takes all of one minute. This thing has made our pool maintenance virtually zero. We think it is worth every penny even if it lasts one year--which I doubt it will from all the reviews. We pull it out of the pool after each session, clear the filters and put it upright in the deck box, storing it nicely and taking care of it should do the trick. Do yourself a favor and get this baby! You will not regret it!!

So far a great purchase

G. McKee -

After spending the last two summers spending 3 hours vacuuming our vinyl liner freeform Lagoon pool with the skimmer vac, I decided to take the plunge and purchase a robotic cleaner. After a couple of months doing research on what was available and the reviews of each, I finally decided on the Nautilus Plus from Pool Zoom via Amazon. While it is still new (only used a couple of times) I can't speak to the longevity of the unit but I will update my experience. But for now, it is an amazing machin

e. I simply placed it in the water and hit the "on" button and she started buzzing away. It had no problem crawling over the drains however it did not seem to climb some of the walls that great. It would climb up to about 6" from the waterline and then suddenly just give up and drop down to the bottom and resume cleaning the floor. Other walls, it would climb all the way to the waterline and then turn and vacuum around the waterline. It supposedly scans the pool to figure out the most efficient route but I'm not sure how it works. It seemed to just roam willy nilly around different parts of the pool with no rhyme or reason but by the end of the cycle, everything was sparking clean so no complaints. I also don't see much of a reason for the 3 timer settings as it's recommended you don't leave it in the pool all the time--maybe I'm missing something? I was initially concerned about my outlet being 30 feet away from the pool edge and the cord from the outlet to the power supply is only about 6 feet but there is plenty of cable from the power supply to the robot to reach the far side of the pool. So far I am loving it--Now I can spend time doing what I want to do and let the machine do what it does

Why did I wait so long?

TG -

This is, hands down, the best money I have spent on my pool since I installed it! This robotic pool cleaner is not perfect in cleaning the pool, but no other pool cleaner is and neither are you when you manually clean your pool. What I can promise you is that your pool will never be cleaner than when you use this product. About my pool: 25,000 gallon, salt water, sand filter, 3-8' deep, 41' long, 35' wide at shallow end, 18' wide at deep end, vinyl lined. It's in my back yard without a screen enclosure surrounded by large live oak trees. We get major leaf drop between February and March here in NW Florida. This machine will suck up all but the absolute largest ones. It holds a surprising amount of leaves, and it has only clogged up once on me. When the pool is heavily leaf-laden, I might have to either scoop out some leaves (off the bottom of the pool) before I start the cleaner or pull the cleaner out and empty the catchment system mid-clean. That said, for normal, daily use, this cleaner cleans my walls and floors better than I ever have. The pool water is more finely filtered thanks to the small micron filter set. It’s saving me a ton of time! If you’ve been on the fence about getting a robotic pool cleaner, like I was for the longest time, get one today and thank me tomorrow. I will update this review with any future insights or problems with the cleaner. My biggest concern about shelling out this much money on a cleaner is reliability. It’s been two months so far, and I’ve had no problems Only time will tell.

Cleans my pool so well it is amazing. It does stairs

Ken C. -

This thing is a life saver. Cleans my pool so well it is amazing. It does stairs, goes up the side of the pool, and everything else. You can set it to clean for 1, 2, and 3 hours which is convenient. Emptying the debris is pretty easy also. A couple of issues though. First, the tread on the cleaner can come off occasionally and it then jams up the robot and it stops cleaning. The tread fits on basically like a big rubber band that fits over the rollers. I have a rough porous stone lip on my pool and the cleaner always rubs and grinds against it. As a result, the device is pretty scuffed up and beat up already, after only a few months. Still works like a charm though -hopefully it will last given the price. Finally, and perhaps my biggest peeve is that you must either unplug the device from the wall or take the device out and wait a while for it to clean again. I.e., if you leave it in your pool after it's cleaned, it doesn't always activate to clean again, say the next day if you just press the on button. I don't know why it does this but I've found myself constantly pulling the plug out of the wall to "reset" the power box to have it clean again.

Will save you hours of back-breaking work

Kenneth Ihrer -

When we first moved into our house with an in-ground pool, it came with a Polaris 280 (I believe) and it used the pools pump and filtering system. It was okay but still required supplemental work on my part. We then purchased an Aquabot and it did a much better job of cleaning but cleaning it was a pain (uses a bag-like filter that required work to clean). The Aquabot also broke relatively soon (I think I got two seasons out of it) and it was almost as expensive to get it repaired as it was to purchase. For several years, I went back to manually cleaning the pool because I wasn't interested in spending such a large amount on a product that didn't last very long and was difficult to clean. Finally, I just got tired of doing the job manually and decided to investigate pool cleaners once again. My research led me to the Dolphin. I must say that this is by far the best pool cleaner I have experienced. When I opened my pool this year, I just let the Dolphin do all of the hard work. It turned the pool from a green mess to sparkling clean in three days. I also love how easy it is to clean the filters, They come out of the machine easily and you just spray them off with the water hose. If I have anything negative is that the unit is heavy so it isn't easy to pull out of the pool.

So far So GREAT compared to old Aquabot.

Jennifer L. Menke -

I am so in love right now. For years I have struggled with our previous robotic cleaner -- the Aquabot Turbo. I finally gave up on it last season and waited until I was ready to open the pool to buy a new one so that a return would be easier if I didn't like it. And while I have only completed my Spring clean up, I couldn't wait to share my experience. 1) it did not get stuck on the main drain: HALLELUJAH! 2) the cartridges are SO MUCH EASIER TO CLEAN that that damn Aquabot bag. Emptying that bag is so gross with silt and gelatinous worms and gunk. The cartridges are a dream compared to that. 3) it hit the whole pool on it's first run. I will update this in a month or two as the season gets underway, but first impression is awesome. Also: I opted to go with the Nautilus Plus over the Triton Pro because it was half the price. While I did want a remote, based on my previous Aquabot's dismal coverage, I just could not justify the extra money. Many older reviews of the Plus fault it for not having a handle. This model DOES have a handle, so it's a non-issue. My pool is an inground vinyl 20x40 rectangular with steps running along entire shallow end. The cleaner climbs to the waterline but doesn't really do the steps. It will crawl up the steps, but rather than running the length of them, it turns and goes back down. Not an issue, as I just brush them.

I have an octagonal (8-sided) in-ground swimming pool. I felt hesitation before ordering, not knowing whether or not this unit would be effective in cleaning such an odd design, with stairs. My hesitation was wasted. First the not so positive fact: This unit doesn't climb stairs well, nor will it clean the entire set of stairs. I still occasionally have to clean that section by hand. For highly positive points: Though it sounds cliche, this unit is amazing at how efficient, and effective, it cleans my pool. I simply lower the Dolphin into the water, turn on the power supply, and stand back while it cleans. I use the unit about twice a week. Prior to purchasing this unit, I manually vacuumed and swept the pool. This usually took about an hour, 3 times a week. Now, using Dolphin, I have not manually vacuumed since the first cleaning. Many people say they wish they had made the purchase years ago; because this is a newer generation of pool cleaning, I am glad I waited until it was introduced. As for saving on chemicals? Absolutely. I use less shock, less algaecide 60, less flocculent, and spend less time concerned with the pool's maintenance. All too often, sometimes the 5-star rating might be exaggerated. For this review, I strongly and enthusiastically recommend this product using all 5 stars.

Please read this!!! I spoke to the factory rep prior to purchasing this unit. when we discussed warranty, she mentioned that proof of purchase INCLUDING SERIAL NUMBER must be submitted with warranty claims. I called the seller and had no problem getting the serial number added to my receipt. This is my first pool, and my first robot. we are extremely pleased with the cleaning. while it does occasionally get stuck on the steps, and has issues cleaning in the curve of the bottom, it seems to do an excellent job. I run it through 2 cycles at a time (I read somewhere that it gets 95% coverage of your pool, so I figure doing it twice should get even more) and that takes about 4 hours. The factory rep also recommended not keeping this unit in the pool full time, reducing direct exposure to the sun, and rinsing it off after every use. I store it in a plastic storage box on a couple of 4x4's to keep the brushes from hitting the ground and flattening up. The only thing that I cannot figure out is that there is a screw on the top that needs to be turned to open up the upper part of the unit for cleaning. The screw seems stuck, and I am not about to force it. Otherwise, I would fully recommend this unit.

Does a great job

I have been nothing but thrilled with my Dolphin. Maybe it is just how my pool is laid out, but I have never experienced any of the issues that some others have mentioned. I find that you need to remember to turn off the bottom lines out if you have them as it can get latched onto those if they are running. I've seen it shut itself down sort of inexplicably a couple times, but pulling it, cleaning it out, and resetting the PSU seems to sort that out and it's off to the races again. It will clean even a filthy pool (at opening, for example) in just 3-5 cycles and will keep the thing completely spotless if used 3-4x/week. My caddy and PSU blew into the pool in a windstorm and warranty support sent me a new one right away (I had to follow up as they initially botched it and didn't get it mailed, but that happens). All told I am very happy. We will see how long it lasts! :)

After about 24 months of using this device, I must say that I am very pleased and would recommend to others who are looking for something similar. I have a pool that is 38x18 with depth going from 3 to 9 feet. No trees on top. At the beginning I was eskeptical about how good it was doing the job. I have an older sand filter and I had some residual sand at the bottom and my Polaris could not handled and was breaking constantly. After researching I thought this would do the job. At first it left some tracks of sand in the pool but now that I am more serious about backwashing and rinsing the filter well, the dolphin leaves the water very crystalline and the floor very clean, like I have never seen it before. The negative part, is that the device is very heavy and my wife cannot get it out of the pool, even after draining the water inside. Other issue, is that it sounds like you cannot leave it inside permanently. I wish it had the power to scrape the walks to clean dirt and a little Algie that grew from ph imbalance.

Wow! Here is a before and after after two cycles. This model does have a smaller basket size, but given the attached pictures will likely be the most leaves I have in the pool i wasn’t too concerned. The before is when I opened the pool in the spring, and the latter picture is after two cycles. Of note, I don’t think it was able to keep vacuuming given my baskets got overflowing with leaves. But, it is now spotless. I did purchase the caddy separate for moving and storage. I will try to update as to it’s durability in another year or two.

I could not live without this pool vacuum!

RG -

We first started using it to help clear up our 'green' pool from being closed over winter. It's amazing what this thing picks up. It comes with 2 sets of filters: one for picking up larger debris (more open weave design) and one set for fine filtering. Until we had the pool open, we used the set for larger debris, then switched to the fine screens to 'micro filter' the small stuff and small algae particles from the floor bottom and sides. 1 cycle lasts 2 hours and you can set it to run daily, every other day, once a week, etc. Or you can just run it manually when you want. We run it about every other day and it virtually eliminates the start of algae growth on the liner which is great if you don't run the pump continuously. Highly recommend.

Fantastic product! Fantastic customer service

Alexandra -

We bought our Dolphin 11 months ago and it has worked perfectly. Depending on the season we run it a couple times of week and our pool stays sparkling clean. If it gets dirty, I just press the power button again. (You can have it run automatically, but I prefer to run it when I need it too.) It's not particularly good on small stairs, like we have, because it can't make the turn, but it just takes me a minute to brush them off into the main part of the pool. I think it would be better with bigger stairs. (It climbs stairs fine. It's just a turnaround problem on our stairs.) This week, after 11 months, the power supply went out. We think it might have gotten wet in some sideways rain. The unit is water resistant, but not water proof, so make sure you keep it covered in rain. Nonetheless, I called the company, and they said they would send out a new power supply immediately. No muss. No fuss. Great customer service! I would buy this product again in a heartbeat.

Outstanding robotic inground pool cleaner

Bobbi Nesbitt -

We had a Dolphin robotic cleaner that serviced our 20x40 in ground pool for 10+ years. Finally its life came to an end and I turned to Dolphin again for its replacement. We purchased the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus and we are amazed at the advancements in this product. We were totally satisfied with our previous Dolphin for we NEVER had to clean our pool. The Nautilus is keeping our pool spotless. The advantages include cycles pool in 2 hrs instead of 3, no cord tangling, extremely easy to clean cartridges, lighter weight, climbs entire pool walls and steps, turns itself off when cycle done. It is an investment but well worth the money spent and cleaning time eliminated to have a spotless pool. We are hoping our new Dolphin has a long life like our previous one

My Third pool cleaner and by far the best!!!!!

Danny Kirk -

I purchased a suction cleaner for $200 and it worked well but since I only have 1 skimmer I would lose the function of the skimmer and I still had to deal with the hose and cleaning out the skimmer and backwashing etc. When the suction vacuum went bad last year, I purchased a Polaris 360 side wall pressure cleaner about a month ago. I was excited since I have 3 output ports so I could use the skimmer and the Polaris vacuum at the same time!! The Polaris 360 would go in circles, never leave the d

eep end. I also came home and found it floating in the pool!! I called Polaris and they could not help so back to Amazon it went. Next I researched the robotic pool cleaners and found the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus. It arrived, I read the easy setup paper that came with the cleaner, I cut the packing plastic off the front and rear rollers, checked the inside filters that were already installed. Put the vacuum in the water, hooked up the blue power cable to the power supply timer. Plugged the timer into the GFI outlet on my house. Pressed the power button on the timer/power supply and away the vacuum went. My pool is a oval in ground vinyl pool 34 feet x 18 feet its 8-1/2 feet deep and 4 ft in the low end. This vacuum went up the walls, went around the edge , even over the skimmer, down into the deep end over the bottom drain and into the low end. It tried to go up the steps but couldn't do it. In approx 2-3 hrs the pool was crystal clear!! I opened the top of the cleaner, removed the 4 filters that came straight out easy, then I un-clipped the filters and cleaned then with my hose. Finished in 2 minutes and could not believe how much gunk this vacuum found. Reinserted the now clean filters and I'm ready for the next pool cleaning. OMG, this is an incredible machine! I put my manual vac and hose back into the garage. No more vacuuming for me! I will let the Dolphin Nautilus do it!! This vacuum is like having another filter roaming my pool. I bet I will not have to back wash very much anymore. Will update by the end of the summer

Simply an outstanding product. Some things that all must know is that it is not well suited for large material such as leaves. Our pool was recently opened and there was general dirt and crud that would take me 3-4 hours to clean up. Using this monster I pitched it in the pool and watched it do it's thing and was amazed at what it was able to do.amazing technology and I am very satisfied with results in less than than 2 hours without me managing the machine.

I got the Dolphin Nautilus Plus and used it in the pool for a 1 cycle test run. I am happy with the initial result. This unit collected sand/dirt and other debris (dog hair) from the bottom of the pool. This unit is able to climb and scrub wall and the bottom 2 steps. I keep up with the weekly manual scrubbing of the wall and gather leaves which got into the pool, but this will greatly assist me with vacuum the bottom. Will update once I get more use from this unit. 02/27/2018 So far, I tried both of the filter media and the fine filters will trap all the fine dirt and dog hair. I remove the cleaner and clean the filters after each cycle. I do not keep the cleaner in the pool when not in operation.

A very satisfied pool owner

Charlie -

After putting up with a Polaris 360 for way to long, I happily replaced it with the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus. The pool was filthy and had a heavy ring of grit around the bottom of the circular deep end, plus the entire pool bottom needed a good cleaning. The Dolphin was in the water within a few minutes of its arrival -- heavy grit filters in place -- and did a remarkable job needing only one filter rinse. We have a 22' x 38' free form pool with a circular deep end and a rectangular shallow end. It has a vinyl liner, steps, swim out and no 90 degree corners. I put the fine filters in the next day and ran it again, even though the pool was cleaner than it had ever been, and was surprised at the amount of dirt and grit it picked up. It does a good job with the walls and coping, and actually goes up into the swim out which before I always had to clean manually. I don't understand how the cleaver clean system works since it appears to be random but it did a great job of cleaning the entire pool in only 2 hrs. Hi highly recommend this product but do suggest you get the caddy for it as well: not necessary but it makes storing pool side much neater.

My pool looked like a green swamp after the past winter season

Dan Horwitz -

My pool looked like a green swamp after the past winter season, and my water suction cleaner wasn't accomplishing anything. So after reading many reviews and recommendations, I decided on this one. It's a powerful scrubber cleaner that pretty much does what it's advertised to do. Using this robotic cleaner along with some algae and shock chemicals totally cleaned up the pool in 2 to 3 days. The top loading filters are easy to remove and clean. They save your regular pool filters and skimmers from catching all the debris that would require backwashing. So far I am very pleased with this unit. I had read that others complained about it leaving black marks on the pool, but I talked to the manufacturer and they said that that has not been an issue with this more recent design, and I found that to be true. I have an odd shaped gunite pool with steps, ledges, etc. This cleaner climbs all over the place, and does not leave any black marks. No failures, no complaints, just a very clean pool so far!

I built a new pool with travertine paver deck. The pool installers got a lot of sand a dirt in the pool. I put the dolphin cc plus to work on clean up the mess. It took a double run to clean up the mess because the filters were full. The pool now looks fabulous. Our pool is surrounded by cluster palm trees and a large Mango Tree. The dolphin cleans all the leaves and actually helps reduce my chemical usage. A pool cleaning company vacuum my pool after it was installed to clean up plaster sand a month after install. His vacuum worked okay. I put the dolphin in after his suppose cleaning and pickup two filters full of sand. I got the bill for $250 for 30 days work by the pool service and feel the cost of the dolphin is justified in few months.

After two consecutive Aquabot robots both failed in their 2nd year I decided to give the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus a try. It was at least 30% less costly than the Aquabots, but obviously that hadn’t made them better. I’ve been totally happy with this robot… which is now in it’s 4th year of use almost every day during the summer (my pool is surrounded by trees and gets a lot of debris). It cleans extremely well and has had no problem. The filters are very easy to clean and overall I’ve saved time in almost every way using it.

I purchased the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus last year based on other reviews. Just as advertised it works really good. Easy to set-up and easy to clean after use. Overall a great product that saves time and money. Would recommend to anyone with a pool.

The first two hours nearly cleaned by in-ground, 26,000 gallon pool – only leaving a small area of the slope that was needing cleaning. I ran it a second time and all is well. It climbs my walls and even runs around the edge of the pool at times. Not great on the steps but I did not expect that. Easy to clean and easy to use. I just lowered it into the pool and plugged it in and hit the start button. First day so rating MAY chnage but I hope not.

Couldn't be happier

Cory Bell -

I was always leery about robotic cleaners due to the higher price and how well people said they worked vs how well people would say that their suction cleaner worked just as well. Well, I’m here to tell you after owning 2 suction higher end models from Hayward and Pentair that I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. This baby way outperforms the suction cleaners I had. Plus, it gets into those areas the suction cleaners wouldn’t due to the design of my pool not being generic – it has some spots for sitting and standing that made it hard for the suction cleaners to get into. I had to brush those areas weekly and brush the walls/stairs weekly. This baby gets those areas and (I couldn’t believe it) the stairs as well. I couldn’t be happier and think it is well worth the $700. The only con I have is the requirement to pull it out of the pool after it is finished vs leaving the suction one in all the time except when swimming. This requirement is supposed to help with the life of the cleaner making it last longer. I guess time will tell how long it will last and continue to outperform.

I bought this cleaner on the recommendation of a friend. He purchased the same model after having a new pool liner installed. After the liner was installed he pressure/power washed the deck around the pool. There was a lot of dirt, sand, and silt in the bottom of the pool. After two cycles the pool was absolutely clean, and the filters had all the dirt trapped inside. 5 minutes of cleaning with a garden hose and the filters were ready to go again. I would highly recommend this cleaner and hope to never have to manually vacuum my pool EVER again.

Cleans up after Hurricane Michael

Dale M. -

This probably exceeds the manufacturer’s warranty however after Hurricane Michael destroyed our screened pool lanai and filled the pool with metal, shingles and every type of leaf of twig imaginable, we were at a loss on how we would get the green trash filled pool clean. After pulling out the big pieces and still faced with lots of debris we took the gamble that our Dolphin Nautilus Plus would do the job. We used the spring filters and pulled the Nautilus Plus out every five minutes or so (less as it cleaned) and to our great joy, it cleaned up all of the debris in the pool. Then once we got the big stuff out we changed filters and it finished the job to a clean pool. Again, not what it was intended to do necessarily but proof that this does a great job!

Hurricanes Florence and Michael were no match for this Dolphin!

C. Daniel Mccombs -

I bought this Dolphin Nautilus CC right before hurricane Florence hit. The pool was loaded with leaves after she passed through. Normally, it would take me days to get the pool sparkling clean again, but the Dolphin had it perfectly clean in two passes. Same results when Hurricane Michael blew through. It is super easy to clean..pull out the two cartridges, unlatch then, give them a rinse, and snap them back in the Dolphin for the next round. It picks up leaves, dirt, small sticks, and even acorns easily. As an senior citizen, I was worried about lifting it out of the pool after cleaning, but it is not too heavy for me to lift and drain at the pool’s edge. I gave it four stars (instead of five) for two reasons. One, the first time I used it one of the tractor-like treads jumped off the tracks. It was fairly easy to reinstate, however, and hasn’t come off again. Secondly, the cartridges IMHO are a tad small for large clean-ups. They are great for weekly clean-ups but were crammed full after the hurricanes.

Works well and still works after a year

J. C. -

Before buying this pool cleaner I was unsure of spending this much money on any pool cleaner since they all seemed to have issue. My experience with this cleaner has been 90% positive. We have a 20x40 pool with a 9 foot deep end, about 40k gallons. We are also on well water that can only handle about 500-600 gallons/day. Vacuum to waste could use 1-2k gallons, never mind backwash, so we had to find another way to minimize vacuum to waste time. After almost a year with an active pool summer this cleaner is going strong and does its job well (up to medium-size frogs). One star knocked off for the pleated filters it came with - only used them this year while trying to kick some algae out and when I did the bottom extensions that secured the filter onto the cleaner at the bottom were snapping off to the point of not being usable. We went back back to using the screen filters with no further issue. Don't bother with the caddy, it is not that heavy. Recommended cleaner - any changes I will post updates.

Works Great, But a Couple of Issues

Mark M -

I'll start by saying it works great. Very pleased. And I'd buy it or a similar item again. I travel a lot and don't need to vac or leaf rake or brush the pool when I return any more. It does the walls, in fact sometimes you'd think it's climbing out of the pool at the waterline. I have it set up to run every day in the early morning around 6 AM...My wife takes care of the scooping floating leaves and cleaning out the skimmer baskets while I am gone and the Dolphin finishes the task. Coupled with

a saltwater Cl generator, my pool is practically maintenance-free now. Worked easily right out of the box. Easy to clean the filters and they have a decent capacity, so if your pool is relatively clean to start, it'll run for two weeks before the filters get anywhere near full. As long as there are not tons of leaves falling into the pool and going to the bottom. The key is keeping the leaves from sinking, so a daily skimming with the pole is very helpful. Also, leaves on the top like to cling to the cable between the Bot and the Control Box. What can you do? My MAIN concern is how long it will hold up. Bought the Caddy, should have been part of the original deal. ISSUES: It leaves black marks on the pool marcite. They don't look like they can be removed..... :) Gets stuck on the love seat at the deep end. It's happened twice. I'll look outside and that's where it ended up. Who knows how long it sat there trying to move before the timer shut off....The control module logic is a bit goofy. If I want to run it again on the same day it ran earlier, you have to power off and restart and then that is the reprogrammed new time it will start next day.....should have a one-touch button that runs it for a cycle and does not break the daily program to start at 6 AM. The fact that the module is not water PROOF, but water RESISTANT (useless) is not good. So I bought a $24 Amazon Prime Deck box (similar to Suncast) and drilled two 1 1/4" holes on either side wall at the bottom....placed the Control Module in the box and it stays very dry. And excess cable can be wrapped in there as well. Nice. The power cable to the AC supply is too short. Had to buy a 15" extension cord, wrapped it up nicely with electrical tape at the plug interface. Anyway.... the PROs greatly outweigh the CONS. I'd give it 5 stars except for the "nits" noted. Very happy with it. I just hope it lasts. And I noticed they say in the "manual" (very poor) that the CL needs to stay at or below 4 ppm, so take it out when you shock the pool

Cleans and filters even the smallest of particles

P. Smith -

I have only used the robot twice and I used the fine filters that ship with it. It certainly does pick up very fine particles as well as time pebbles. It is also very simple to use. Although it does not clean the water line as such, it does climb to the water line and will turn and clean along the water line for 3 or 4 feet before going back down. I gave it 4 stars because it's too soon to tell about reliability. Also, I sent an email to backyardpoolsupply several days ago asking for an invoice and have not heard back. As a word of caution, when you attempt to register this with Maytronics they do not seem to be set up to deal with products purchased through Amazon. I sent a copy of my order and a copy of my payment, both from my Amazon account, and they did not accept it. They sent an email saying: please contact your authorized MAYTRONICS dealer: It is mandatory to attach a copy of the invoice including date of purchase and serial number. You have to provide the serial as part of the registration but all other information is in the order and the payment sections on your Amazon account. I called Maytronics today and was told they will look into it. If they give me any more issues I will downgrade to 1 star because part of the reason I bought this was for the 2-year warranty.

Powerful robot

Jaiya Rampersad -

The Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus arrived quickly. It came preloaded with cartridges and had a second set as well. It was pretty much plug in and drop in the water ready. Now for the details... The robot is a little heavy so it is worth it to get the caddy (9996098-assy) for about $107 but it should cost less as it is mostly plastic. I finally dropped it in the pool, I have an L shaped pool and let it run. I was amazed at how dirty the filter was with fine debris that I couldn't see in the pool. Afte

r running it for a few days, cleaning it after every use, the pool is spotless. I know it is supposed to have some type of logic to get everywhere but it seemed to go wherever it wanted in a random pattern. However, it did clean the entire pool. It even cleans the wall very well. I have the power pack sitting in the caddy and set to clean daily. There are only two buttons, the power button and the setting button. powering up the unit without pressing the setting button will let it run a cleaning cycle once. If you hit the setting button, you have a choice of 3 LED lights, 1=daily, 2= every other day, 3=weekly. There is no other display on the power unit. The hose is actually very tangle resistant and although it coils up in the water, when the robot moves it unwinds just fine. The hard part...Taking the robot out of the water. getting it to the edge is easy just by pulling the hose but taking it out of the water takes a little effort. It is heavy and filled with water. It takes a minute to drain and you have to hold it in the air or drop it in the caddy. Cleaning the cartridges is quick and easy. I Just open it and empty the leaves out then use the hose to wash off the stuff stuck to the net. So far I have no issues with the unit and it has been running fine. If this changes I will update the post

He even tries to clean the waterline by easily climbing the walls and then running around the edge. Though he misses a lot of the waterline, he doesn't miss any of the bottom debris. Great little robot. The only complaint, and why I did not give him 5 stars, is that he is a bit one the heavy side. Taking him out of the water is a bit of an effort. Luckily he has a handle which makes it much easier.

The dogs sure enjoy barking at it!

We do like the nautilus plus but it does have some disappointing flaws. It does get stuck on stairs, ledges, and unusually shaped areas. It does miss several areas and seems to repeat the same already cleaned sections while missing untouched others. It doesn't get into corners at all. But it does save us many hours a week of vacuuming time so it is worth the money in spite of it's imperfections.

Pretty water

Adam Connor -

I have read many reviews about this cleaner. Some say it doesn't climb steps; some say the units life is short; some say dealing with the manufacturer is a nightmare. I have not had this unit very long but it climbs my steps, cleans my tiles above the water line, and even tries to clean the edge of my concrete deck that protrudes slightly over the pool. I have found this cleaner stuck from time to time on the corners of the steps with no apparent ability to free itself until it shuts off or someone give it a nudge. It runs some unusual patterns when operating but overall it manages to cover the majority of the pool surfaces during each cycle. I do have to use the finest filter upon each use as the other filter doesn't remove fine dirt. My water looks great and I am pleased with the results thus far. I hope to get several years of reliable service from the cleaner due to the cost......but, I'm very concerned after reading some of the reviews.

Is 4 years good for a pool vacuum

Ed Ward -

I had a Dolphin before this one. It came with the pool and house when I moved in. It died after 3 years. I'm not sure how many years the previous owners had it. I figured they must have had it for at least a year. Is 4 years good for a pool vacuum? I don't know. It seems like a short time. Anyway, I researched it to death and this one kept coming out on top. Compared to the old dolphin, this one blows it away in every way. One thing I like is that it is lighter yet, siks to the bottom of the poo

l better than the old one. With the old one, I would be there for 5 minutes flipping the ting around trying to get it to fill with enough water so it would sink. It's faster. I dropped it in and it zoomed off to the other end of the pool in about 30 seconds. It seemed like it picked up everything along the way. This was on the day I took the cover off the pool so, there were a lot of leaves. It's a lot easier to clean than the old one. The filters just pop in the top. there's 2 sets. A screen set that seems like it's for a pool opening with a lot of leaves. It also comes with a set that seems to pick up finer stuff. It would be nice if the manual told you which was which. So now the bad stuff. The manual stinks. It's easy enough to figure out yourself but, a more detailed manual would be nice. The online version has videos which is nice but, no more detailed. Specifically, the weekly timer. It tells you you can set it to clean daily for a week or every other day but, it doesn't tell you if you leave it in the pool. I know that sounds dumb but, it specifically says that you shouldn't be in the pool while the vacuum is in it. So, does that mean you can only use the weekly timer when you're going to be gone for a week? I question how their support is going to be. I submitted a question to support via their web page. When I clicked on "Submit" I got "Page not found". I don't know if they got my message or not

Slow start, but now seems to be working fine

Michael P. Uva -

My husband and I are not completely pleased with our Maytronics (Nautilus CC Plus) Dolphin robot. While the item seems to be working fine now, it got stuck up on our pool’s shelf seat and couldn’t get itself off. While on its first run, the robot got stuck on the shelf for about 15 minutes while we waited to see if it would figure its situation out and correct itself. We had to pull it off the shelf and away from that end of the pool to see what it would do. It took all of another 7 minutes for it to get stuck in the same position (one side on the shelf seat and the other side leaning up against the side of the pool). It could move itself back and forth, but it just wouldn’t turn or impel itself out of that position. Again we had to pull it off the shelf, but this time we shut it down, waited a few minutes, and started a new run. It got stuck again after about 10 minutes and we pulled it off the shelf, shut it down, waited, and started it again. It has now made 3 successful runs of the pool without getting stuck. It has put itself up on the shelf again, but now it recognizes that it has to impel itself off the shelf after about 1 or 2 minutes. We are very happy with how my Maytronics (Nautilus CC Plus) Dolphin robot is working so far, but we are reluctant to set it for unsupervised operation.

Almost perfect

Advil Josey  -

The product works perfectly. It’s something to see it climb up the sides and over the steps. The only issue I have is the rubber corners they have. I’m sure they are there to prevent damage to the pool and the robot when dealing with sharp angles in the pool. The problem is, I have a white surfaced pool and the little rubber parts leave scuff marks around and on the steps. I didn’t realize it until I saw a build up of the marks all around the edge of the steps. I need to find a resolution to this to continue using it on a frequent bases. I’m hoping the marks fade. If not, I will need to find a way to remove them without damaging the finish.

Fantastic Cleaning Robot- Nees a couple of improvments...

Gregg Winters -

First and foremost, this Robot will clean you pool completely and in 2 hours. Brilliant!!! Drawbacks… Poorly designed “securing clips” to the bottom of the filter. 4 on each side of the filter to secure the bottom of it to the frame, but they are about 1/8 of an inch square, and on the “heavy dust filter” all 8 of these clips have “sheered off” during normal cleaning. Luckily, the top “s shaped” clip that secures the top of the filter are good enough to hold the filter in place even mis

sing the bottom clips. The Display on the cleaner doesn’t actually display anything!!! Like time to end of cleaning or a quick clean feature. It just has 4 blue lights that let you set up daily, every other day, or 3 times a week cleaning, if you leave the cleaner in the pool all the time, which I don’t. I clean if after every pool cleaning. The Cleaner also has a tendency to get stuck at 45 degree angles when trying to clean stairs. I can not let it clean unattended due to this happening. After it tries to free itself off of a step at 45 degrees, I’ve frequently had to “pull it free” with a slight tug on the power chord. or it will get stuck “forever” trying to free itself, which it can’t do. Lastly wrapping the chord at the end of the cleaning on the company’s own “caddy” is difficult, because a clip you wrap the chord around at the bottom of the caddy is too short for the length of the cable, and wrapping that last “10 feet” is always a pain. All those things considered, I would buy this again in a heart beat. It does a fantastic job of cleaning every inch of your pool (Except trouble on stairs) GO BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried to reach Maytronics help to decide on which model I need.

John M -

Well as I stated I tried to speak with a rep., but no one ever got back to me until now over a month ago. I purchased one regardless Nautilus plus, disappointed on its waterline cleaning also I have a built in tanning deck and steps which it avoids. Spent a pretty penny wish they would’ve spoke to me when I was inquiring even now no one called only sent an email.

This is a great pool cleaner! It has done a wonderful job keeping my pool clean and ready for swimming. Only complaint I have is that I am having a hard time finding a place to re-order the filters.

Real love hate relationship

AMM -

Tough one. For the price and features this should be a slam dunk. Sometimes this thing just spins in circles and doesn’t clean anything. Other days it’s got a real method and it drives in lines back and forth and cleans sparkly clean! As I write this it’s just doing laps in the deep end and then floating to the top just to force itself back to the ground. I have had to rescue the thing a few times as it flipped over and just floated around panicked. I wouldn’t buy again. I would look into the smart phones units so I can force it to drive in certain areas. Also it’s wearing funny on certain pieces of the plastic housing. I would hope that doesn’t continue...I also bought the extended warranty in the hopes I would never use it.

A lot of hassle for the money

Lyndsey -

I thought I would buy top of the line to limit my inconvenience, not the case. In hindsight I could have bought a less expensive cleaner for the effort I have to put in. Problem is it goes in a clockwise motion around my pool, so the cord tangles. I have to untangle it daily. Yes, it goes back and forth, and can make left turns. But in general it makes a clockwise motion. Yes, it has a swivel to prevent tangling, but for some reason it still tangles. I have no clue why it does this. I have a rectangle pool, cord drops in the middle length wise, and i limit cord length in the pool to what is needed. Also, the power unit gets hot. I didn't know this and placed in a small container with no ventilation. It was fried within months and I had to replace it for $200.

Not for dusty areas

Donald W. Snow -

The cleaner did have very powerful suction and would go everywhere but the cartridges are way too small for this machine. The instructions say you are supposed to clean the cartridges after every use but it does not say that anywhere on the purchase page, you find out that lovely gem once you receive it. Even though I cleaned the cartridges everyday, my pool is 48 degrees so that was horrible in it self, it would still dump a massive amount of dirt back in the pool every time I removed it. I gave it a 3 star because it is very powerful so if you mainly need it for leaves and not so much dirt then this would work great. It goes EVERYWHERE I was very impressed with that. The check boxes say it does not clean the water line but that is not true, this machine does go along the water line.

Good but pool specific drawbacks

PAK -

Decided to invest in the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus as I’ve had to replace my Polaris every few years. As other reviewers have noted it’s easy, efficient, and maneuvers up the walls. However, I can’t run it without being outside and watching as it gets tripped up on the steps and built in seat. It eventually makes it back to the pool bottom but it keeps repeating the effort. After a while I start feeling sorry for it because it’s so persistent. Perhaps I didn’t read the specs well enough for each model but I definitely made a mistake with this model. Just make sure you choose the right model.

Works great out of the box but replacement parts render it useless

Daphne V Turnquest -

It works great out of the box I must say. But if something happens with the blue power cord that's attached to the unit it's pretty much garbage after that even if you replace the cord. My mistake.....My dogs chewed the cord TWICE so I had to get a replacement cord but they never send you the same cord that came with the unit and I think this replacement cord causes the unit to be trash. It CONSTANTLY gets stuck.. You pretty much have to babysit it and even that isn't good enough to clean the pool. It's like the whole "smart scan" technology is gone rendering it useless. The replacement cord always has one less float bulb than the original, near the end of the cord next to the machine. Maybe that's why it doesn't work well anymore? I don't know. All I know is I had this issue with two Nautilus cleaners and both ended up not working after that was replaced. I see other owners in here mentioning the cord and getting the same problem. I would recommend you look elsewhere for a pool cleaner.

Customer Service, what's that?

Andy  -

So I bought this not quite two years ago, works great, this summer go to start up and nothing. Used a friends power pack and it works fine so need a warranty claim on the power pack. Email . . . Nothing. Call . . . on hold for hours. still waiting, at this rate I will just buy another power pack, but never buy another of their products again. It’s a shame because the pool cleaner works great.

Essentially Useless

Paul -

If your pool has steps, this thing is basically useless unless you are willing to check on it every 10 minutes. No matter what, it winds up sideways straddling 2 steps and just spins its wheels. When it runs it works fine, but it spends so little time actually cleaning the bottom of the pool because it is always hung up on the steps. I used to own an Aquabot and while it was harder to clean the filter, it did not get "hung up" nearly as often as this thing does.

It's pretty much an expensive gamble

JJ -

I wanted to love this thing but the quality control just continued to disappoint. In the 5 times it worked it worked very well, but then one of the treads fell off the tracks and got jammed. It cost me my own shipping to send it back to Maytronics for a fix. Then it worked well.. for another 4 times.. before the same problem occurred. How many more times do I have to pack this heavy thing up and pay $50 shipping to get the same clunker back? Very disappointing.

Good, but not worth the money!

RM -

I read a lot of the reviews before we made the purchase. There were a lot of great reviews and some not so good reviews, so I was a little bit skeptical to begin with. I was very excited about it because we had been with out a vacuum for a couple of weeks and there was definitely a lot of build up on the bottom of our pool. When I first put it in the pool I as happy with the amount of debris it immediately picked up and was happy to see it climb the wall and then go sideways to scrub the tiles. I set it for everyday cleaning hoping that it would clean everyday, which it did not. I have to go out and start it each time I want ti to clean. Also after just a few days of cleaning it stopped working. I took it out of the pool and cleaned the filters and mad sure the connections were good. Luckily that did the trick because it started cleaning again. So the pool is clean which is a good thing, but the machine itself some how gets stuck in the strangest positions. it will go half way up the wall and then begin to fall which activates the fan on top to push it back against the wall, just to do that over and over again. My thought is that the machine is too buoyant, and it floats too much. After one particular cleaning cycle it was just floating in the pool about half way down, it was very strange! So I guess to sum it all up, does it work? Yes it does clean the pool most of the time. However, I did't spend almost $800 for something to work most fo the time.

Works great. Doesn't last. Warranty service seems purposefully onerous.

Clint -

Cleans the floor and walls very well. Does alright on stairs, but not great. Power supply died after about a year. Not long after replacing the power supply, the robot itself stopped being able to move. Only the impeller worked. Trying to get warranty service is a nightmare. I couldn't wait the months it takes to ship it back and have it repaired, so I opened it up myself expecting to find water inside the control box. To my surprise, everything inside was nice and dry. Hooking up 29V directly to the drive motor, it works fine. Something on the control board must have died, which is pretty sad after one year in a perfectly dry environment.

Tire keeps coming off track

Charles Morris -

As far as cleaning goes it is the best on the market. I bought late September 2018 and afte a month the tire keeps coming off of the track, very frustrating. It became more frequent as the days of cleaning the fall leaves out of the pool. I reached out to customer support about this issue and was told I would need to send to them for repairs. UGG, Fall just started and I have tons of trees in my neighborhood. Needless to say, I did not want to seed in at this time because, that is the whole reason I bought this 750.00 equipment in September, I was wanting it for fall cleanup with all of the leaves. Now it is January 2 2019 and I feel as if I am getting the runaround about sending in for repairs. I have packaged up and I am ready to ship for 4 days now. Still no shipping label from Maytronics. Very disappointing since this is about the 4th one I have owned in 18 years.

Purchased this cleaner for my 16x36 inground pool. Ran it for the first time and it has left black marks all over my brand new white plaster pool. Extremely disapointed as the marks do not brush off. I think it is from the side of the cleaner rubbing up against the pool. DO NOT purchase if you have a plaster/concrete pool.

Don’t buy unless you like to repackage items

WW -

Do not buy this pool cleaner. This is the second time I’ve purchased this cleaner. The first time I purchased this was a few years ago. The machine was DOA. I put it in my pool and it didn’t do anything. I had to repackage and send back which was a real burden. This second time I purchased I was hoping with all the good reviews that they had improved on the model and my first experience was a fluke. WRONG!! I ran the cleaner in my pool as soon as I received it as a test run. It actually turned on and worked this time which made me excited. It worked pretty good but not great. I still had a few leaves left at the bottom of my pool but I wasn’t going to complain. Well the second time I put the cleaner in my pool, the machine powered on a worked for about 20 minutes before completely dying. I was so bummed. I was really hoping it would work so I could stop paying a pool cleaning company but I guess I’ll continue paying a company to clean my pool...

Piece of junk

Dave -

I bought this unit and right out of the box it has issues. It runs for 7-10 min and just stops. Tried 3 times and it does the same thing every time. For the few min it does run, it doesn’t seem smart enough to navigate my steps at the shallow end. It spent most of it’s short running time finding it’s way into a corner and not being able to get out of it.
